Sexism on PF?

All for the development of the women’s game - I don’t know the extent to which England doing well boosts it globally, but obviously a strong desire to ride the wave of success here will do no end of good and has moved it right into mainstream media. OK some of the media can’t help themselves “first final since 1966” “finally a chance to add a second World Cup” “first ever final on foreign soil” - putting the men and women’s games together as if they had equal history, structures and standing will do more harm than good imo. Why can’t it be seen on its own merit - that would help avoid the unfair comparisons that any sexism is drawn from.
Yep. It's absurd really.

The Women's 'Ashes' made me laugh. What ashes are they talking about? Do they have an urn? Fuckin' stupid.

I quite like it has a thread. I’ve no interest or time to watch it, so I stay clear of the thread.

People who are watching and following can chat in the thread about it which is pretty much the point of the whole forum idea isn’t it?

Be media frenzy now . Telling us it's the greatest thing since sliced bread . Load of shite like

I hope none of the numbskulls slagging off women's football don't have daughters, sisters or partners who want to play or follow football. Perhaps they would prefer that football would be a safe space men-only zone where they can share their prejudices without being challenged.

So why not just have one thread for the premier league or one for everything non Sunderland related?

Because there's more overall interest in the PL and football in general? Whether you like it or not the women's game, especially league matches attracts low crowds on a weekly basis and simply doesn't have the pull.

Now, I understand that but the fact that the thread has 7000 posts suggests that the IS interest in the WWC, no?

Actress is acceptable to all but the woke loons
Not really. It’s been dropped by everyone now.
My understanding is that job title shouldn’t be defined by their sex which I get (although there’s nothing derogatory intended imo). Maybe because Lioness is a nickname it’s acceptable?

And it has a thread. You could always start a separate thread? Believe the mods have said earlier in this thread there's been no merging, although could be wrong.
