Sexism on PF?

Why is the entire women's world Cup assigned to a single thread?

Are we going to do the same with the next men's world Cup?

Surely games like this deserve their own thread. I can understand (sort of) that non league football has a single thread dedicated to it but this is a world Cup ffs.

I'm sure this will get shifted to "that thread" quickly enough.

I quite like the dedicated thread to be honest. I always know where the chat will be, regardless of the game I’m watching.

I said in that thread, I’m watching the World Cup alone as nobody I know locally is interested in women’s football. It’s been really nice checking and posting on that thread, it’s the only chat or interaction about the games I get

I suspect if you wanted to start a thread specifically about Greenwood’s progressive passing or Hemp’s dribbling you could and it would be welcomed

So should/would we do the same with the "proper" World Cup?

Wouldn't say its sexism, but certainly think games like this one deserve their own thread. That being said, are match threads actually being created and moved into the women's football thread, or are people just posting the teams and stuff in there initially?

it means the people with the boring sexist patter could get it all out on the first few pages then bugger off

instead of repeating on the first few pages of each match thread

also, lets be honest, there wouldn't be much interest in the group games not involving england up to this point.

if england get to the final there'll be a dedicated match thread no doubt. thought there would have been one today mind

Tbh, it's fine. This board is primarily for chat about the men's Sunderland team and secondly for football in general. If the board were to become spammed with multiple threads about a growing and improving sport which is now receiving more investment than ever but which a large section of the board simply aren't that interested in then there is likely to be a reaction. And that reaction is likely to extend beyond the loud minority of boneheaded mysoginists who actually feel threatened by the growth of the women's game.

One thread is plenty for the time being
