Sevilla v Manchester United Kick Off 8pm BT Sport 1

Pep is the one to blame (not for that single goal), hes made your average footballer try and pretend that they can play out from the back and it just invites so many issues. Lump it up and then reset, trying to pass out from the back looks great if you have defenders who have quick feet and midfielders who want the ball, these aren't and don't.
It’s absolute madness. Spurs alone must have conceded half a dozen or more goals through it .I can count on one hand the number of goals I’ve seen where this tactic has led to a goal .

Honestly why the fuck I’m a listening to Robbie Savage commentate. He hasn’t got a clue what it’s like to play in a game like this, bang average player

I can kind of understand why we do it as our strikers/attacking players are 5'6 so majority of goal kicks will be lost but most teams have 2 or 3 players over 6 foot who could at least challenge or get a second ball. It annoys me that we dont try the long ball over the defenders as majority of teams have a high defensive line against us as they know we try and pass it out due to the small striker but we rarely try the fast winger move, or if Patto looks for it the winger isnt interested as he hasnt looked when they were running previously. Its like its now become the only way to play.
