No end product? 7 goals/9 assists and 7 goals/3 assists.
Borini scored 7 (3 of them from the spot) and assisted 2, yet he's the new savior. While Jozy scored 1 goal in a full season.

A lot of people on here.
What's your take on him then? What would you expect from him really? In a lot of games he was the only one who was a threat.
Those 'assists' were actually shots on goal!

He was capable of more than we got from him. He was becoming less effective towards the end of his time here and i didn't lose any sleep when he was eventually sold. To give ourselves next to no time to replace him wasn't ideal mind but, as West Brom fans will testify, he is massively inconsistent nowadays and when he is off his game he's pretty much a passenger imo.

6m quid was decent money at the time and looks even better value now.

And this. To call him a midfielder is plain bollocks tbh. He was given the free'st of free reigns.
We don't have any consistent player, so I don't get the picking of one player and accusing him of inconsistency.
6m looks like good business? Can you say Jozy is a better player, or Giaccherini?

He wasn't consistent enough for the position and responsibility he was given in the team. As far as i'm aware neither of those 2 players played in his position/were given his role to play. Do i think Jozy or Giac have lived up to their potential so far? Ofcourse not. Sess had his chance tho and didn't deliver enough on a regular enough basis so we cut our losses and tried something new (a whole new system as it goes), hopefully for the better.

Him nashing off on the drink whilst we were playing was a bit of a piss take mind. Suggested to me that he really didn't give a fuck either but maybe i'm on my own on that one.

Some (plenty) were adamant that he was shite because he was inconsistent, but he was capable of brilliance and being a match winner. In a way its the same shite Johnson gets from sections of the support now, I think you have to question whether these people really understood the true role he played, lost count of the amount of times on here people claimed Sessegnon was a striker.
Blah, blah......f***ing.....blah!

Sess' problem is his poor decision-making, particularly in when and where to pass, and his poor shooting. Sure, he did some good stuff and some pretty stuff, but often he was poor (which is why he looked like he didn't turn up more often than was actually the case). Decent-ish player, nothing more.

I'll let you argue amongst yourselves over how good/bad Sess was for Sunderland.

All I'll say, as an Albion fan who watched him last season, at 6mill (?), he was an absolute snip.

Thank You, carry on.
Seriously mate there, iirc he is canny. (IIRC, I clearly have stated in the post) but IMO he was very overrated on here there, your bait won't catch many there mate, IMO of course (In My Opinion) even cheers Boilermaker gets a few bites there mate, IIRC there of course mate there.

 Such a well thought out response.

Sessegnon was a penetrator. We haven't got many to play his role.
Without an initial penetration it's very difficult to break down tight well drilled defences. We haven't really got the passers to do that either.

When he was good he was very very good but when he was bad he was anonymous (which was way too often IMO).

Who was better? Give me a laugh.
Well Adam Johnson is our best player for starters

Also, he wasn't sold for 'next to nowt' we got £6m for him which is what we paid and he was nearing 30. Plus we didn't miss him whatsoever, in his final season we finished 17th - last season we finished 14th, we certainly got no worse anyway. Johnson created/scored alot more than he ever did for us

There is literally no arguement for letting him go

Johnson? I thought he was canny average last season. Haway then, other than Johnson who is better than Sessegnon.

Also Johnson was poor the season before last so hardly our best at the time.

6m is fuck all and it would cost £10m to replace someone like Sessegnon.
