Huth etc will attempt to kick him out of the game on Saturday
So did the likes of Whitbread and Johnson but he still made them look like chumps.

He might be small but he's a mad, hard bastard. I love the way he just gets back up after being kicked in the ankles, no play acting, no rolling around. He just gets back up and gets on with his football, the man is pure class.

Before the season started the general feeling on here seem to be behind the frontman was his best position, but after a few not so great games he was written off and the geniuses on here decided it was either on the wing or not on the pitch at all as he's a 'luxury' player.

He now just seems to roam between midfield and striker, very David Silvaesque.

I think within the space of a few weeks or months last season, that it was obvious he was the most talented player we had in the team, by a long way. I've said it plenty of times, that he should play wherever the hell he wants to play, and we adapt our formation to suit that. Martin has done this, giving him the advanced role where he is free to roam, whilst also getting the players to get up there quickly to support him. Bruce gave him the role, but then left him isolated expecting him to do it all alone.

Most of the complaints directed at Sess were that he had no end product. But it was clear to me that he would have an end product if we actually had players supporting him up the pitch instead of expecting him to pick out the loan striker in a box of 5 defenders.

It's simple. Give him the ball and have players running off him. He'll either pick them out, or use them as dummy runs to get more space for himself.

Started going to the game in 1990. And I think in that time Sess is the best player ever to put on the shirt. Ok we've had Quinn and Phillips but u mean as a footballer he's a different class. Got to get a new contract sorted.

Think sadly we'll lose him in the summer. Main thing is that we should be looking for the next Sess now. Bruce's out of work, think he'll fancy a part time scouting job?

Apart from his superb skill and awareness a lot of players who are in his class go missing at some point of the game or will not chase bad passe. Sess always chases even when it looks like a lost cause. Whenever a back pass is made and their keeper comes for it Sess i not far behind. He will get a goal from one of these situations at some point this season

If Sess leaves I'm holding dangermows PERSONALLY responsible for not coming up with a class chant for him. The twat.

The new one for him was sung for quite a while in the SWC last night and Sunday, doesnt seem to be catching on elsewhere though might be a one that takes a few games to catch on.

]If Sess has an agent worth his salt he's already gonna be asking for a new contract.

We should give him whatever he wants and double it. Or at least add Gyan's wages onto his.

Obviously we already knew we were getting a good player and he will already be on good money, but it's turned out we have one of the very best players in the league - he'd get into every other team in the league IMO.

There is no way we could replace him with similar quality so we have to do everything we can to keep him. There is bound to be transfer talk about him in the summer and we should immediately adopt a 'Spurs style' stance and make it clear he is under contract and we won't even bother responding to offers less than £50m.

From t'other thread.
Especially seeing as he took a pay cut to come here in the first place

Sad thing for me is that for all I think he will move on, unless he gets a consistent first team berth at whichever top club he goes to he won’t be as successful as he is here. He currently plays with hungry, professional players who have a strong team ethic and work for each other but also recognise that Sess is by far the best player at the club and if they play around him and give him the ball the team will do well.

If he moves to a top club he’ll have to muscle his way in amongst players who are better than ours but consequently think a lot more highly of themselves, in spite of the fact that many still won’t be as good as Sess, and with the level of player power at clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea etc I don’t think he’ll get the sort of input on the field that his level of skill dictates he should. There is hope that he might see this perhaps, he’s not seen remotely the sort to agitate for a move or complain for as long as he’s been here.

But really think he’s at a crossroads between basically being instrumental in the rise to power of the team he’s at, but not really much chance of winning anything, versus being a bit part player at an existing, big club and winning stuff but not really being that involved.

Absolutely spot on, I think he was trying to do to much himself earlier in the season but he had to because the support just wasn't there.

Since we are now supporting well from midfield and Sess looks settled in his free role I would expect Bentdner to do better although I'm not sure if he's going to get back in with Campbell being back fit

For a 'fancy Dan' (;)) I like the way he sports the unfashionable 'no gloves' look for a night match in Sunderland when it's -4 degrees. No effeminate long sleeved undershirt for this boy either.

Best player ive seen in a Sunderland shirt since superkev, we need to give him a massive contract in the summer.
I'll be pissed off if he goes to Liverpool they're fuck all these days they cant offer anything we cant achieve under MON.

He’s not really a fancy dan though, that’s why he’s so good. Fancy dans tend to be skilful in space but weak in prolonged contact, whereas Sess is strong on the ball wherever. It’s that that means his close control is so lethal, he doesn’t have the Achilles heel that skilful players usually do, think it’s why he’s unlike anyone else out there just now really.

Sessegnon is a far better footballer than Phillips.

Everything we do goes through Sessegnon, he is absolutely vital to how we play and we should already be talking to him about a new contract, best player I've ever seen play for us by a country mile.
