In fairness to Bruce, he had it spot on formation wise, he just couldn't organise and motivate them.

Sess wouldn't do anything in that position, that was the SMB opinion at the time.

The bloke is a class act, proved beyond any doubt when he played up on his own away at Bolton last year. He's a striker.

Before the season started the general feeling on here seem to be behind the frontman was his best position, but after a few not so great games he was written off and the geniuses on here decided it was either on the wing or not on the pitch at all as he's a 'luxury' player.

He now just seems to roam between midfield and striker, very David Silvaesque.

No doubt about it - Stephane Sessignon is a class above anything we have ever had and I include SKP in that assessment.

But don't worry about him possibly leaving (IMO he will not, if Ellis has any shred of PL ambition) - instead I think he is the first of several Barca type players we will see joining SAFC.

Remember our stunned joy when Djib joined us? Well, I think we have stepped up a bit since then.

Harrods Plus from next summer onwards if I am not mistaken.

he's a midfielder or playmaker to be more exact, can do both roles of a midfielder and striker. He's just that good ala Messi

Just a thought but if we break our pay structure and offer the lad say £80k/week on condition there's a £30m buy out clause inserted into his contract it would rule out 95% of clubs from sniffing around.

It's weird how he doesn't seem to be getting the plaudits from the media but I guess it has worked in our favour.

Hopefully we can get another season out of him and then get a huge fee.

Would love to think he'd turn down a massive move but he'll have ambitions of playing for a top side and I can't blame him.

Yep, i'll admit I was wrong on Sessengon I was unsure about the end product..don't know whether that was a sympton of the whole team playing poorly under Bruce or him taking time to settle but he's certainley top drawer now.

I don't think anybody would take the gamble of a £25m bid this summer though (Chelsea/Man Utd/Man City wouldn't pay much more for Modric, remember). If he performs like he is all season and then next as well then he will attract those type of bids. All the more reason to put an extension on the table this summer and make sure if he does go we get top dollar.

Please, O'Neill, give him anything he wants. :-(
 All for tying him up but can't remember these sentiments after Bent left for money. We still need to keep a sound financial precedent.

TBF before mon came in he was severely lacking in all departments showed flashes of briliance but his shooting and awareness was shocking

]If Sess has an agent worth his salt he's already gonna be asking for a new contract.

We should give him whatever he wants and double it. Or at least add Gyan's wages onto his.

Obviously we already knew we were getting a good player and he will already be on good money, but it's turned out we have one of the very best players in the league - he'd get into every other team in the league IMO.

There is no way we could replace him with similar quality so we have to do everything we can to keep him. There is bound to be transfer talk about him in the summer and we should immediately adopt a 'Spurs style' stance and make it clear he is under contract and we won't even bother responding to offers less than £50m.

From t'other thread.

I'd slightly disagree as I think back then with the exception of his shooting his awareness was still good but the difference was that he rarely had any runners in front of him to pass to.

Since O'Neill has came in we are seeing McClean, Gardner, larsson and occasionally the full backs being further attacking options with some of these running beyond him rather than just the lone striker which was happening perviously resulting in his awareness looking better as he now has options. He still had the awareness before and created 2 or 3 chances in most games, but now he has more freedom to play and the players around him have the confidence to score as well.

I think every single club in the top six would have him, apart from Man City who already have enough world class attacking midfielders. Arsenal, Liverpool and even Chelsea would kill for a player like him.

Huth etc will attempt to kick him out of the game on Saturday

They've got to catch him first :-D

He is an outstanding player, and we should do everything possible to get him tied down to a long contract before the summer
