I won July's competition so the honour falls to me to select the theme for September. Let's go with an old favourite - Monochrome. Yeah yeah, black and white, but we don't use those words around these parts very much.

There's some guides and examples below for taking some pretty awesome monochrome images. I really think that we should all be asking the basic question of "is this better in black and white than in colour?"

It's worth pointing out now that sepia is not monochrome. Also, selective colour will not only see you instantly disqualified and banned for life, but will also put you on the list for a visit...

But it's a very open theme and remember, we can have 2 entries each, so lets rock it this month!

Please send your entries to [email protected] (2000 pixels along the longest length, no more than 5MB, JPEG format) along with your username by midnight 30th September. Remember, no watermarks. You can take the picture from now until the closing date.
