The perils of working from home.
I've been self-employed most of my adult life, for many years in partnership with others, for the last 10 or so, solo. It's not easy at times (and I fully agree that self-discipline is vital) but at least yanar ye can trust yer boss (even though he's a total ****).I’m very disciplined tbh, although I’d struggle with a 9-5 number now. Quite often working at 4 or 5 am.
Last email last neet at 11pm, first today before 6.
I get paid for what I get done, always has to hit deadlines- some being a bit short/ridiculous
Like @Ginger John - the perils of having ya own business![]()
Working from home was never an option for me, unless there was a seam of coal in the back garden and latterly I would never have got my fork truck or the warehouse up there eitherI’m very disciplined tbh, although I’d struggle with a 9-5 number now. Quite often working at 4 or 5 am.

Arl the seams underlying the houses in the North East, ye coulda mad a forchoon with a bit windy pick & a few tubs & Gallowas.Working from home was never an option for me, unless there was a seam of coal in the back garden and latterly I would never have got my fork truck or the warehouse up there either, thankfully I’m no longer required to go to work happily retired (early) but I still send Mrs C out to work.

I work at odd hours. Sometimes I wake early and I sit doing admin work in my pyjamas with bed hair![]()
Sounds class, that, la. Did ye ring fer a deal, are ye subscribed to some discount place, or did you just mention pit ponies heeds in beeds? My little business is 10 yr old at the end of November/early Dec. I’ve promised Mrs W a weekend trip to celebrate- to S’land.
Mind, for her birthday ( earlyish Nov) I’ve booked a hotel in London, I think you would appreciate. The Courthouse, Old Street, in a Shoreditch Suite ( got a deal as ever). Converted nick together with cells ( now for drinking in) which housed the Krays side by side. Pool, roof terrace bar etc, wouldn’t pay the asking mind![]()

Excellent. B/h? (When we were at school we used to refer to our games teacher as BHB - behind his back, of course). At b/h when nearby, I found a food/drink deal in there, went in & T loved it. Talked to them then about an offer & afterwards I phoned named people & said what I was willing to pay. They give a big discount & then upgraded me ( quiet time of yr I guess). It’s replaced a few days in some European warmish city.
