Poor bairn didn't get in until after half five this evening. School finishes at 3.15pm but she didn't manage to get on a bus in Durham until 4.25pm, then arrived in Chester just in time to see the bus up here pulling away so she had to wait for the next one.
You'll have to be slipping her a few bob to get a drink and a sit, where she can start her homework, if this continues.

Afternoon marra 😎

bloody ridiculous

That is shocking becs. Does it happen often?

They put the school transport up from £47 a month to £90 a month, so she decided to use public buses as she can get a weekly school tripper ticket for £12. Then Go North East cut some public buses over the summer, so now the remaining buses are overcrowded and she can't get on. The buses fill up in Durham before they even get to the school, so they only let a small number of pupils on. She's walking into Durham to have a better chance of getting on a bus. She was lucky today as her school ticket runs out at 5pm and she got on the bus in Chester at 16.59!

That is scandalous, if she ever got past 5 I'd be inclined to tell her to get a taxi and then request Go North East to recompense ya as it's their poor service that is at fault. The alternative is for them to cope with the resultant bad publicity of abandoning a vulnerable young girl to having to possibly walk home in what will be increasing dark evenings.

Me too my best mate is in a wheelchair permanently. I'm not in a wheelchair was joking about that but right now can't walk far at all. Haven't had a beach walk for ages
Its so bad we got the chance of a really cheap holiday to our favourite place but knocked it back as SWMBO is so worried about my knees. Its the worst its ever been and getting from the deaf club to the ground could be tricky for me. Prior to covid I was getting dropped off at the BCB and picked up from there too.
I'll be up at a game soon I'm sure.
Sorry to learn that - and I also just learned that the deafy is closed.

Hope you get to a game very soon!

Evening folks, busy making a chilli for tomorrow nights tea so I don't have to faff on when I get in after the match. Got a load of fresh chilli's off my son's partner (her Dad grows them, red, green, orange). May have overdone it a bit and now busy trying to get some of them out (it is a bit keen), I am sure it will be OK after a couple of glasses of wine though :).
