In terms of the whole O'neill/Di canio situation, the only thing that worries me about Di canio is that hes the type of boss who will have the whole team fired up and they'll be scared to put in anything less than 100% effort, which is sometimes enough to win a game of football like this one.

Our players are normally up for every game anyway though so it really has the potential to be a cracker.

Unfortunately I think it'll be a pounding. 3-0 Mags, OR a last grasp Cisse goal 1-0, which would hurt just as much.

I think 3-0 is being kind to Sunderland. I can't think of one bad thing that is happening at Newcastle right now. Full of confidence. Playing well. Getting results. World-class players. Full fitness. Great stamina and work-rate. Everything I dream of us having.

That encourages me.

 What?

2-1 to the Mags.

They score with the last touch of the game (probably Shola) total ecstasy for the Mags complete with Pardew going mental.

Expect the worst supporting Sunderland and you won't be surprised.

Has Cabaye became Zidane over night?

He's vastly overrated, but does provide decent delivery.

If every player on the pitch performed to their peak, I don't think there'd be much between the teams imo.

He's not a player I'd be worried about facing.

He's a tad over rated by our fans imo.

I agree but if he's on his game he can run the show for them. We've got nothing in midfield to combat that.

My main worry is their midfield. Colback and N'Diaye will both need to have excellent games to keep Cabaye and Sissoko quiet. Gouffran also looks quite useful as well as Marveaux. Bardsley will be at full back which worries me. Cisse seems to be coming into a bit of form as well.

That said we had a visible improvement against Chelsea. I think I'm pinning our hopes on a mixture of things. Renewed belief under Di Canio, Sess having a good game and getting Johnson one on one with what I believe will be makeshift full backs, unfit ones or Danny Simpson...

It'll either be very cagey 1-0 either way or they'll batter us.

I pray to god it's the former and it goes SAFC's way.
