Sending a letter for recorded delivery

Is there a way of ensuring it must be signed for by someone at the address it's posted to, rather than a neighbour being able to sign for it?

Special Delivery possibly? Though this is now old!

Royal Mail

The group says they make every effort to deliver mail to customers at the first time.

If someone is not at home, they will try to leave the item with a neighbour (apart from special delivery items and inbound international items that require a signature) and leave a 'Something for You' card with the customer to let them know where they have delivered it. Customers can nominate a preferred neighbour by completing a form at their local delivery office.

No. For recorded delivery when the postman scans the barcode the 'deliver to neighbour' option will appear. Special Delivery is the only service where deliver to neighbour isn't permitted. You could always write 'do not deliver to neighbour' on the item, that will ensure the lazy bastard postie won't bother.
