Sell before buy then ...

I was also alarmed that Ross has identified that we didn't go up because of the defensive side of our game - doesn't sound like he wants to focus much on the attacking side of our game...

He's just said clean sheets, which is entirely correct - our defence was weak as piss and it's something we've all mentioned. He then goes onto mention adding strength and pace. People really need to sit back, take a deep breath and read it again.

Best way to run the club.

But essential we get recruitment right. Otherwise we get stuck with a load of deadwood.

Shambles, we need players in, at least another 6 or 7 - need more than just replacements for players leaving

Another long season ahead then
We do not need a squad of 26 or 27 senior players. That’s ridiculous. We need to shift some of the squad players and replace them with quality. The players in the first team they replace then become the squad players.

He emphasises the defence. I don't think this should be highlighted alone - we were piss poor in midfield and attack too.

so what happened to the ususal suspects on here who said getting rid of Catts could sign 5 league one players?

Ah so that was total bull shit

the aim should not be to get our wage bill down to £2k a player like

if the aim is to simply live within our means 100% then we are fucked

 mate

they are mid table in the premier league

we just finished 5th in league one and now have to sell before we can buy, despite just getting rid of one of our best players

the situations couldn't be more different
Nothing has changed. We could afford to sign those 5 players. Ross doesn't want a massive squad though so outgoings will match incoming.

And would you rather we learned no lessons and just threw money everywhere and ended up in debt again? Utterly clueless like

Think the size of the squad actually hindered JR he didn't know his best team and constantly changed. Team was disjointed
Agreed. That's all he's saying/doing here. Fixing that issue. He wants a smaller squad with more quality, pace and strength throughout. Sounds good to me.

Good god,aye because there is no inbetween the 2 things

Its almost like you think last season was a success, clueless

Haven't posted a thread on it purely for the fact it could be bollocks however i have been told that we are looking to sell McLaughlin. Cardiff City want him but it depends on whether Etheridge is going to get the move he wants. We have Trevor Carson lined up as replacement.

You aren’t the first poster to mention him.

I haven't said that at all. In fact, just one post earlier said we HAVE to get out of league one. Sorry, that mustn't have been clear enough for you.

There is no reason why we can't as a club get out of League One by living within our means. Simple really.

I would rather take a long road back to the Premier League, building slowly and steadily on a solid foundation than the previous strategy of spending more than we have at every level and owing clubs, players, third party's and the owners a fortune.

BUT yes, agreed, we can't afford to stay down here any longer. We can at least agree on that?..... Interestingly the owners and manager have repeatedly stated they know that as well.

Do you ever f***ing read what's posted? Do you?
Does he fuck man, or he reads it but doesn't understand what's being said. Either way he makes these statements or 'counter-arguments' in a bid to put his point across without any regard for what is actually being debated. Subsequently, in his own head at least, allows himself to feel as though his opinion is the correct one when it completely unrelated the point hes replying to.
Its idiotic

A senior squad that currently sits at 21 and a stated aim of having a squad of 20. We’re attempting to sign that Dobson lad so it’s understandable that we don’t want to allow the squad to inflate too much. It’s a nervy time for the fans but its probably the right thing to do.
