Sell before buy then ...

Ross literally says that the squad is big enough now, and it's about replacing parts of it, which means people leaving before we bring more in. Nothing he says suggests it's anything to do with finances man

Give owa man, he's not satisfied with that squad. If he is then he's satisfied with the play offs again.

We've let 6 go and brought 2 in. The reason for needing to sell before buy is finances man. We've been told we want 6-8 in and there was no mention of we must sell before buying then.

I suspect we have saved some of Cattermoles wages, or we would have just kept him, but he didnt leave with nothing either.

They keep mentioning cash flow though. Oviedo's wages will be eating into that, nomatter how much they protest how they club is in a strong financial position you cannot be paying players 40k a week at this level, it's more than ten times the average wage, allegedly 20 times I was reading earlier something about a 2k average at most clubs. The worrying part is that McGeady is likely to be on 25k or something similar.

I get that mate but the logical thing to do was to get this sorted ASAP......but it seems as though far too much energy has been put into getting new investors on board. The squad is actually weaker just a month before the season starts and the same manager is essentially working with the same players yet we're expecting different results. Even worse he's talking about keeping more clean sheets as a priority.

I find it fascinating that we have threads on here all the time about getting rid of players yet when the club comes out and say it it's a disgrace, jesus wept
It's amazing. People on here are becoming more and more precious, more and more angry at everything and just looking for the next thing to pounce on to slag off the owners.

Last summer we were happy to be rid of Short and a lot were happy at the new strategy of living within our means... it turns out we're not and falling short right at the end has caused everyone to have a mag style meltdown.

one problem last season was we needed numbers urgently and fast. of our CB's, Loovens (Free), Flannagon (Free), Baldwin (fee), Ozturk (Free) i think most of us would have been happy with that recruitment combining the experience and cost spent to get these guys in.

now we have them, we are looking to strengthen positions instead of just getting numbers in.

example with Connor McLaughin. last season we just needed numbers. this weve actively signed a player for that position specifically so we can test o'nien in midfield.

I'm certain of nothing. It's an opinion I have. Oh and the talk of McLaughlin being sold has been talked about away from here. You're pretty niave to think a player wouldn't be sold against the managers wishes.
I'm not saying he wouldn't just some of the shite and opinions spouted on here and becoming borderline facts is ricidulous at the minute.

Did you miss the part where I said replace/improve

He doesn't want a massive squad. He wants to improve the squad but keep similar numbers. It's really not that hard to understand. And nowt to do with finances.

I think they'll listen to offers for anyone.

Oviedo will be the one they're actively trying to shift.

Can't imagine Oviedo will be back here for pre season. He'll have anther 2 weeks off before we announce he's left

That’s what he’s talking abut when he means structure of the club !

And that's the scary thing, we've got a thread dedicated to the mags and it's funny to watch them show themselves up over and over again by over reacting to everything and nowt, yet some of those pointing the finger are doing exactly the same thing on here..

It's really not. He's saying the players that are brought in need to fit the structure of the club. So be on reasonable wages for a currently League One club. That's still not saying finances are dictating sales. Squad size is dictating sales because he wants a small squad. That's been known for ages.

There really is nothing to see here other than the relief that Ross knows we need pace and strength adding to the team.
