Wtf??? Let's speed up a quick check out by introducing self service which will slow it all all down again.
Nah, Lidl have had them for ages much quicker.Wtf??? Let's speed up a quick check out by introducing self service which will slow it all all down again.
If people just refused to use them not that it would happen likePutting people out of work.
Pretty much like got to think where this leads, automation is going to effect so many jobs going forward.Putting people out of work.
Totally agree. Personally never use the self scan thing. It's just a way of using less staff and saving money for the massive companies who make huge profits year on year.Putting people out of work.

They should be employing people to do just that.Or staff can be used more usefully doing other things such as keeping shelves stocked and helping people out rather than being stuck behind a checkout.
It does but it also gives someone a class job where they just stand there and swipe their card across the machine when someone buys alcohol.Putting people out of work.
Lots of people protested during the Industrial Revolution. Their fear was that machines were replacing humans.Mrs Coat (no) - walked out of Lidl's at the Prospect when there was only the self service till open.
She asked for a till with a human being on to serve her, but was told by a staff member that they were all too busy.
She just dumped her basket on the deck, and walked away.
The self scan your stuff as you walk round is an absolute godsend in Asda. Bish, bash, bosh, round and out the shop in as minimal time as possible
Not sure if Aldi or Lidl, but the big new one in Peterlee had the self checkout, but no staff working on them. So when something needed staff to check/fix, you had to wait for an eternity for them to finish with the customer on the main till, and leave and walk over to you.
It was a disaster.
They took them out rather than fix the problem!
