Problem is hes an unstable lunatic......before the end of last season there were clear signs of trouble when he in the press slagging players such as O'Shea off when performance related stuff should always be kept behind closed doors........
I totally agree with you. Alarm bells were ringing for me after the Spurs game.

Well, keeping it all behind closed doors is clearly working for Poyet.

Ever thought that this is going on behind closed doors at the "Tuesday Club"?
Woodgate was well known for his house parties where all sorts went on that was a disgrace for a professional sportsman.

The evidence is there on the pitch. Only turn up when they fancy it and impossible to motivate otherwise, fold faster than The Flash on washing day when under any kind of pressure. The sign of players who believe they're completely untouchable, and the club's executives backing them against a manager, no matter how mental he clearly was, will only have strengthened that belief.

the sooner we're rid of the lot of them the sooner we'll be able to start moving forward.

Has it ever crossed your mind that they aren't good enough?

I thought this was common knowledge? My ex (no) works at the club and she used to tell me all the time about what the players were up to behind the scenes. The last few managers have all been given the heave-ho because the players controlled the locker room. The minute a manager clamps down on it the players band together, refuse to train and go crying off to the board. I cannit remember who the ex said was the ringleader, sure she said it was bardsley though.

Its not even hard to guess who the "leaders" are as you can often see it on the pitch whenever we do score a goal, and Bardsley is one of the biggest weazels when it comes to sucking up to the supporters when the time is right (derby matches being a prime example).

Agreed, while another season of upheaval is not what we want, we need them out of the club and being in the Championship we should be able to fill the void left quite easily.

If only Short had backed Di Canio over the players one of 2 things, the players would have had to nuckle down and play to the best of their ability week in and out or they would have been outcasts and other players would have come in, maybe the younger ones who knows but would it have been any worse than our current situation, bearing in mind Di Canio said to give him 15 to 20 games or whatever to get it right then if he did fail we would all know.

The club by now would be in a healthier state I believe if Di Canio had remained.

Di Canio was not the answer, I liked his no-nonsense attitude and could see where he was coming from regarding certain players - but the bottom line was he didn't look like a good enough manager to be managing at this level. However good his intentions might have been, there's no getting away from this.

The same crap was spouted about Cloughie in his early years. Deemed to be an unstable, egotistical tyrant and overbearing obsessive who wanted to run every aspect of the club, from the boardroom down to the tea ladies. He wasn't exactly popular.

I think he would have proven he was good enough myself, this is what annoys me as we never had the chance to find out now all we have is if's and buts for both sides of the argument.

Wonder if we got Pulis instead of Poyet if we would be out of the mire or still in the same position.

I was not a Pulis fan before Palace but what he has done with them is astounding given their position when he took over, they purchased more players than us as well.

He didn't look like he had anything to suggest he was good enough to manage in the Premier League to me. He seemed to think he could play the same kind of tactics here that he probably had success with in League 2 with Swindon when they were a relatively big fish in a small pond. It would never have worked here.
Can't see him getting another job at this level unless he becomes a bit more humble and willing to reign himself in, which doesn't look like it will ever happen.

Aye but Clough knew a thing or 2 about putting a decent side out.

Forgetting the fact that PDC was a complete basket case, his team selection & tactics were shit.

Don't think Pulis would have fared any better than Poyet to be honest mate. We don't have the players to make his long-ball game effective and we have too many players who only turn up when they fancy it, and that won't change no matter who the manager is.
