Have just gotten to listening to the owners interview on Roker Report.

Interviewer asked about the state of the stadium & they said they want to get the fans in to paint the seats and tidy the place up. Do you reckon they're serious & if they are, who'd be up for it?

All you need is a couple of thousand people with blow torches to turn up. Melt the oxidised surface of the seats and the pink will go back to red......what could possibly go wrong

he says it wouldn't work in the next breath, health & safety probably...

the context of what he was saying is the important bit... the club has to reconnect with the fans, but the fans need to reconnect with the club too. he's trying to get the mentality that this is our club, not his... it dovetails into methven talking about how fans can't expect the owner to dump millions on the team - it doesnt work like that, we as one unit have to invest time & money (through the gate).

its not a million miles away from the door quinn pushed at when complaining about fans watching the game in pubs on hookey foreign channels.

They should paint them. Get a contractor in to spray them. No sense in replacing them.

Can't see them getting replaced any time soon - end of next season at the earliest, I'd imagine they'd be on a long lead order time and they'd have to be installed all in one go (nowhere to store them on site surely unless the SOL has a huge unknown underground basement that none of us know about)

If they're shutting the top tier for a while, it's not beyond reason that they could shuffle the seats around and have the shite ones in the top tier. Then they'd have plenty of time to get them replaced, resprayed or whatever.
