Season card question

Going with Ticketmaster was (another) wrong move by the owners. I know of someone going away this Friday and arriving back at Newcastle Airport on Saturday morning heading straight to the match.
What has making the cards got to do with Ticketmaster? That's Ticketmaster who deal with plenty other football clubs and send out thousands of tickets a year. Or did you see yet another opportunity to have a tedious, negative dig you absolute whopper.

Obv's I am just a tit, but I am a wee bit concerned as well. FFS why do we need all this outsourcing shit, does it really cost that much to keep it in house in the grand scheme of things.

Pretty sure it’s all tied in with Ticketmaster.

Nope that doesnt work, specifically what date should people have received their season card by?

Yes , it does work , as the date may be different for different season card holders , although the vast majority would be the day before .
That’s really for the club to know and act upon tho , I don’t work for the club or know the profile of season card holders .
However, I have faith in the fact that they either will arrive in time or a contingency plan will be announced . I will get in .
Do you think that we ( season card holders) will actually miss the first game ?

So you don't know for definite? What examples do you have of Ticketmaster, probably the most successful seller and distributor of tickets in the world, screwing things up? I would imagine the cards are printed by the company who has installed the new entry system. Shall we start slating people for choosing that company too?

If it doesn't go smoothly, then yes. Same as any time a service provider fails to provide. It hasn't happened yet, so hopefully nowt comes of it as it would put another negative spin on the start of the season.

The people that matter have had all summer to get this sorted out. A massive PR own goal given how uninspiring this summer has already been in terms of incomings. If the ticket office are saying that are going to be sent out at the end of next week that’s going to cause relative chaos next Saturday, and is wholly unnecessary.

Definitely cutting it fine. You’re distributing 23,000 tickets, something will go wrong with some of them and you need to give yourself time to sort out the issues. I predict next Saturday is going to be a complete disaster
It was last year, remember? I missed the first 10 minutes of the Charlton home game because of huge queues outside.

What was issue then? I seem to vaguely remember it. Did they eventually just open the gates ?

I think it's a but different this time , as if they havent arrived through peoples doors by this time next week the club are going to begin to receive a hell of a lot of phone calls and emails

Popped in the ticket office this afternoon and was informed that they haven’t been sent out yet.
They must be in the tendering process for the cheapest courier;)

With the new ticket machines accepting qr codes could we not be sent one as a temporary measure

woman in the ticket office said they were going out tomorrow.

Not many tickets sold for Saturday, only opening the East Stand only.

I’m not sure if they ever confirmed but I believe the tickets (I was using individual match ticket not a season card) had a different design which I can only remember them using for that game. Can only assume the new look played havoc with the turnstiles somehow as I can’t remember seeing them again and had no issues the rest of the season.

I would have thought the Ipswich away tickets should have been on sale by now. Maybe cant sell those until the season cards are sent out.

It's a football club, not a printing shop. They're not gonna shell out for the equipment to have the lasses in the ticket office printing out 22k bits of plastic, setting permissions for the cards, packaging them up and taking them down the post office.

That said I'd have thought they wouldn't leave it right until the last minute. The week before the game is cutting it fine if there are problems like things going missing in the post, but there's still two working weeks to go.

It's a matter of fact that some season card holders seats are now going to be empty when if the tickets had come in good time they would be occupied. No worries though as long as you're happy mate.
