Season card fiasco

We've been ok but what we've seen elsewhere is a shambles.

The club need to take ownership of this and if need be get shot of Ticketmaster.

Can anybody recall any issues like this prior to SD?

He claimed on a podcast that the old system was about to crash or something akin to that. I just don’t believe him.

Very strange, I mean there's no chance you'd want to be in the home end. Perhaps they were in the black cats? Although I've had season cards in there before and never saw any away fans.
A bit off topic, but where do you buy tickets for the game v man u u23's. Cant seem to see them anywhere

Went to St Marys today, left 5 minutes before half time as no movement in the queues to get in, absolute shambles. Glad I was there as a neutral than actually really caring.

I worked for Sage software for a while, version .1 was generally worse

I had years there doing that. Been gone quite a few years now and apparently a mate still there says deleting the queue.dta file is still a thing for line 50 accounts. Auto updates were a right pain in the arse on a network when one pc updated and the others couldnt.

You dont have to delete queue manually any more. You can remove the user with an error box that appears. Which is better tbf. But the version they launched that on needed a patch because sometimes doing that deleted whatever the first file beginning with r was because queue was already gone so it moved to the next one.

That type of thing sounds exactly like how I remember it. I got out when they introduced mandatory sales targets for support staff. "Mr customer, now I've fixed the known issue with your accounts software, would you like some payroll as well".

Same carry on at Southampton and Liverpool. Do they use the same system as us?

weirdly enough if these clubs have ticketmaster it would have a knock on effect for us! Since their troubleshooting teams will be the same people, they’re likely to prioritise premier league over league one!

Don't recall anything like this under SD. Club's been shambles since he left.

Sadly, this is the sort of thing that happens when you pare the admin staff to the bone and then furlough those that are left.

I do get the impression that KLD is trying to turn things around, but I hope he is aware of the issues that people are having and it isn't hidden from him.
This is the exact issue. They brought a handful back from furlough two days before the season started to man the ticket office.

Also, they must have missed out on thousands not having the club shop open the first two games of the season. Surely, along with Boxing Day, they are the busiest games for it. The fact that hardly any bairns are sporting the new top tells you that and, like my mate said on Saturday "you can buy a Newcastle shirt in Sunderland but not a Sunderland one"

Tbf to SD, the old system had been in place since the SOL opened and it desperately needed replacing. I appreciate the last few weeks have been a bit of a shambles for some, but it’s nothing compared to what would have happened had a nearly 25 year old system crashed and all the records had gone

Your last paragraph is spot on mate. On Saturday it was noticeable just how few had the new kit on and sadly it’s not going to improve much in the coming weeks.

Fwiw, I do think the new owners will sort it but it’s going to take time. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if next years shirts are made by a totally different company and we even have a new sponsor

I can’t imagine having a life where a plain white card would wind me up so much .
Keep accepting the amateurish club and that’s what you’ll get.

The original stadium had blokes ripping tickets out of your season tickets. The cards came years later.

I use my card to enter the ground, nothing more.It then goes back in the drawer until the next match .

I really couldn’t care less what it looks like to be honest.

I couldn't care what it looks like, but I do care what it represents. f***ing amateur hour, again, from SAFC. It's symbolic of how the club is managed behind the scenes.

They get away with it cos we as fans rarely organise ourselves or show any solidarity with one and other

Part of the frustration is there is very little communication so its hard to tell if the clubs even aware of the issues. We've sorted the playing staff side out but the supporter side seems very neglected.

I complained after the Hull game when they only opened a few turnstiles - got zero response, not even an acknowledgement so my email has clearly went into a black hole somewhere.
