Nothing wrong with what he says and he's right. It seems some haven't read any of it, even though probably the main issue they have is covered by a quote literally in the OP.

Some will certainly have underlying health issues mind.

The premier League and clubs are paying for testing not the NHS, if they were fast tracked, I doubt they'd give nothing to the NHS anyway.

On top of that, the behaviour of premier League players during the Pandemic has been shameful so they deserve to be last in the queue.

That last part could go for a lot of people.

Is he not wanting preferential treatment for rich, young, healthy footballers ahead of many who would be more at risk from the virus? For example the 50-65 age group.

If you believe that the wealthy should have preferential treatment then yes you are right and there would be nothing wrong with it.

That's basically what he's said, he literally says they won't be queue jumping ahead of vulnerable.
But there will be queue jumping. Been listening to a few debates already today and I agree that Kyle Walker and co ain't getting it before me like. Five blood clots on my lungs a year or so ago but I'm in the 50 to 55 group which is tier 9.

So it's a no from me. ;)

Nah fuck that footballers already think they can do what ever they like it they all get vaccinated they will just have parties every weekend. They have been able to continue their work. No doubt there is people out there that have earned next to nothing becuase of the pandemic there's many many people who should he in line to get the vaccine before footballers.

Absolutely, I think that puts this argument to bed!

I understand where you're coming from, I can also see his view and probably agree with him.

What difference would it make? They're not getting properly ill with it anyway. The vaccination doesn't stop folk getting it, just stops them getting as ill.

in reality footballers are probably working in the safest jobs going at the moment. I really can't see the point

Vaccination needs to be done on medical or expected risk (age etc) grounds and also those dealing with the most vulnerable.

Football isn't a special case.

Football is important but you could make the case for performers, especially actors who haven't been able to make tv in the same way.

I know several professional musicians who've had little or no income from their real job since March. Some have taken jobs stacking shelves or delivering parcels just to make ends meet. I doubt, though, that any of them would want to jump the vaccine queue. As with all things medical in limited supply, treatment should be given solely on the basis of clinical need.
People who have to deal with lots of people are at risk. After the vulnerable we have front line care and emergency services. Footballers! In their normal age related place I would say.

They're in the second priority group along with the over 75s.
