Sean Dyche - Vaccinate Footballers

It would be a disgrace if it happened.
It’s embarrassing him even asking, people in vulnerable groups come first then to others who support the health care system and schools etc, as per the list.
It’s a I’m alright jack attitude, football isn’t important these days, they must wait like the rest of us.

Charge them £500,000 a player that will be a boost for the NHS.
Teachers, social workers, nursery nurses, charity workers, frontline police and others supporting people haven't been selected for vaccinations and some of these have additional health needs. They haven't selected teachers probably because they don't like teaching unions pointing out their inadequacies and inconsistencies but front facing public servants should be looked after ahead of these lot. I get his point but if theres a shortage of vaccinations I'd say we should even do the public servants before the customers or the customers can't be looked after and right now people need looking after.

Bus drivers.ticket inspectors, cleaners in hospitals. Shop workers, The people that empty the bins are before footballers in my opinion. And the raspy voiced **** can get fucked for all I care. How about putting footballers in front of every member of his family, then I’d take on board what the bloke says.

I think his main point is they are wasting money on testing that could be better spent in the NHS. Could vaccinate every professional footballer in one day probably and give a large chunk of money to the NHS to spend more wisely.

This from Dyche who doesn‘t believe the Premier League should have to support lower leagues during the crisis. Now that Burnley are in the lifeboat he wants to beat anybody else who swims towards it over the head with an oar. You don’t think he’d be the first to say after the injections - ‘actually, now the players have had it, we provide valued entertainment so why should we donate money to the NHS when other prioritised professions don’t’.

I agree with those who say there are too many feckless footballers, alongside many very responsible ones I know, and the best way to try to keep them in line is for clubs to continue to demand they behave responsibly and hit them when they don’t.

in terms of the financial case, it can be argued that by weekly testing at their own expense clubs are already saving the NHS money.

Young fit footballers need to take their place in the queue like everybody else and not have their clubs buy their way to the front.

Sean dyche has come across as a total dick during this covid crisis imo.

He didn't want the premier league clubs to help out those clubs in dire need in leagues below. Despite Burnley spending the bulk of their time outside in recent years outside the premier league.

He now wants preferential access for rich, healthy footballers (and I suspect himself which is probably his main driver here), ahead of those that need this vaccine far more than them. This isnt about money. If it was we'd offer the vaccine via private means. Its about saving lives.

This 100%

Surely as some of the fittest people in the country, they should be near to the bottom of the list to need it. Give it to the fatties first
They have been asked to keep playing professional sport......which in the scheme of things should have been stopped as it's not essential...so as the numbers involved are only in the few thousands it would make sense to vaccinate them.

He has a point about the money thing. Premier league footballers should pay for them out of their immoral earnings in my view. The thing is, though even though you've had the vaccination you can still carry the virus to others so you'd have to immunise the other members of the club and vulnerable family members.

Well, on the one hand, I can see his point. Football is the biggest sport in the country and is the release from every day life for many so if more games get postponed, football fans lose that outlet which could lead to mental health issues? A bit sad but it's the way it is.

On the other hand, there are millions of other people who are in more urgent need for the vaccine than overpaid footballers.
Thought it was the Mags who suffered mental health problems when the don’t get the level of football they need ??

Nothing wrong with what he says and he's right. It seems some haven't read any of it, even though probably the main issue they have is covered by a quote literally in the OP.
I get where hes coming from but on other hand why on earth do fit, healthy footballers need to be vaccinated. We had 14 players positive and they are all fit and playing football again within a few weeks.
Have any footballers been hospitalized? I dont think so. If we just let football crack on without this rigorous testing then i think it would be fine.

Some will certainly have underlying health issues mind.
