Absolutely no reason to fast track them. I get what he’s saying but it would mean they’re jumping in front of higher risk people. I could see the internationals getting done before the euros but if you were doing players down to our level it would take the piss

Not sure how well this will be received.

Well, on the one hand, I can see his point. Football is the biggest sport in the country and is the release from every day life for many so if more games get postponed, football fans lose that outlet which could lead to mental health issues? A bit sad but it's the way it is.

On the other hand, there are millions of other people who are in more urgent need for the vaccine than overpaid footballers.

He does say that vulnerable people should come first, to be fair.

I get where hes coming from but on other hand why on earth do fit, healthy footballers need to be vaccinated. We had 14 players positive and they are all fit and playing football again within a few weeks.
Have any footballers been hospitalized? I dont think so. If we just let football crack on without this rigorous testing then i think it would be fine.

Vaccination needs to be done on medical or expected risk (age etc) grounds and also those dealing with the most vulnerable.

Football isn't a special case.

Football is important but you could make the case for performers, especially actors who haven't been able to make tv in the same way.

Only time anyone should be suggesting vaccinations for footballers is after all vunerable people have had it.
This is what he says, once all the vulnerable people have it then footballers get it, Simon Jordan was talking about it yesterday on TalkSport as Dick Pound said Olympic Athletes should get it 'prioritised'.

It will mean a queue jump but only when we are hitting capacity for giving out the vaccine, and it shouldn't be taking somebodies spot as it should be sent straight to the club doctor who wouldnt be giving vaccines to the general public so it 'should' result in 2m plus however many elite atheles were vaccinated that week. If we are hitting capacity for general public distribution then I cant see the issue.

If they paid for the vaccinations, I don't see why not. Haven't they already donated millions though?

They're being made to go into work in close proximity to others and travel all over the country doing this. Many footballers won't have any health conditions and won't be vulnerable, but some footballers may have family that are vulnerable and by going into work every day they're instantly putting that family at risk.

Actors would have to take the place of a member of the general public though, sports teams have doctors who could give the vaccine, this of course only works if we are at maximum capacity in general public.

Nah fuck that footballers already think they can do what ever they like it they all get vaccinated they will just have parties every weekend. They have been able to continue their work. No doubt there is people out there that have earned next to nothing becuase of the pandemic there's many many people who should he in line to get the vaccine before footballers.

People who have to deal with lots of people are at risk. After the vulnerable we have front line care and emergency services. Footballers! In their normal age related place I would say.

Reactions: TAD
If they stopped having parties, pissing off to Dubai, cavorting with working girls and generally pissing on the general population. Then if clubs or the governing bodies actually punished them for any breaches instead of ‘reminding them of their responsibilities’ then he may have a semblance of a point.

Til then fuck them

Yesterday the news was a meat factory owner saying their workers should get preference and Sainsburys saying supermarker workers should get preference, pretty sure a couple of days before that it was public transport workers should get preference.
I get it, you all want preference. Tough shit. People likely to die from the virus get the vaccine first.

he says that if they are vaccinated, the money they spend on testing every week can go to the nhs
