Cheeky kernt. Am garna make some black pudding scotch eggs for our next trip. And by the way sea fishing is real fishing, none of this reservoir shite.

Billiard cue for a rod - baler twine for line.

nee finesse and cannot compare with the light tackle fly fishermen use.

Ragworm, paternoster rig, multiplier reel & a 12' beachcaster & you should be looking at dabs, cod, pollack and maybe sea bass, anarl. Wish I was there, too. Happy memories. :-(

really?
should I use some weight with the bubble float?
how long of a hook length should I leave?

cheers, that does sound better in the interests of not loosing all my gear and it gives my son something to watch in the water.

Start off at about three foot and make it deeper as the tide comes in...if you are getting no bites just keep adjusting it till you do.

Should use 2.5 times the rod length as shock leader. Thats about 18 foot at 50lb to make sure.

Where did you learn your fishing?

Off a harbour wall to catch 1lb coalfish...............I'll meet you there Jim and the one who catches the most wins £100. I learnt my sea fishing in the sea with box fulls of coley.

Try Burnmouth as well Cyrus...about two miles south of Eyemouth, down a steep hill to the harbour. Much more sheltered.
