Scottish notes

I doubt it as there is no longer a Yugoslavia
Well, duh! 😂

I'm well aware that Yugoslavia no longer exists and have visited two of the countries that it was previously made up of in recent years.

My point, as I suspect you know, is that I wonder if people still have the same issue with Scottish notes in this day and age, regardless of where they try to exchange them.

Do people still take currency abroad to change in Europe?

I used to withdraw English notes at Wooler whenever I used to come down to the NE
A lot of shops in Shields just wouldn't touch Scottish notes so it just wasn't worth the hassle trying to spend them

Did to me once with the Clydesdale Bank ones, the big book of every currency in the world didn't have them. Only Bank of Scotland. Proper fucked me for 2 months in Africa because I'd emptied me Bank account to bring cash.

It used to be that the further south you traveled, the less likely it would be that Scottish bank notes were refused. It was sort-of ‘if they can’t get the Sunday Post and they don’t know who Oor Wullie or The Broons are’ territory.

But I reckon it’s crept northward now. Maybe even northward of Jarra.

The exchange places here in CZ don't accept them

I've got a Jersey pound note. Keep is as a souvenir or until my next visit as I doubt anywhere will accept it.
