Scottish notes

She can be polite and check if she's not sure. There's no need to be a dick about it.
I once had a argument with some newspaper gadgy in that London which ended up with me using the line "It's a British banknote, I should know I got it out a British ATm and here you are ten minutes off the plane and telling me to sod off"

On reflection after that display of utter dickheadishness I decided to try and not take it so personally.

Bit of an over-reaction from you, but I understand your position. If places don't take Scottish or Northern Irish notes they should tell customers before they pay.
Just likes places which say "We do not accept £50 Notes"

Should all just get on the Euro and be done with it.

You could pay for a bag of crisps with a 100 euro note and no-one would bat an eyelid.

The most fake notes in circulation are Scottish 20s. Where I used to work we got one and even the bank had to send it away to confirm it was that good a fake. Even the pens and UV lights don't always work so you can understand why some shops are funny about accepting them .

We also used to turn down £50 notes. Had one bloke try to buy something for a fiver with it. Told him there was a bank next door and he went off in a huff. Didn't come back so knew it was dodgy

Aye, not my best moment like

One of the lads made the mistake of getting a canny bit out of the cash machine in the morning after a night out, bit of wisdom, he went into the bar of the hotel we were staying in and they happily exchanged it for our English money.

Next thing they’ll be changing the name of everything from Scotch corner to Scotch egg because they’re not politically correct and the Jo... err sorry Scots are offended.
