Who invented it?

When you think about it, it is a great piece of equipment and it's probably been around since the dawn of time, I wonder if the Egyptians used it or maybe the Incas.

The saviour of the human race
For she invented, medicinal compound
Most efficacious in every case
Mr. Freers had sticky out ears
And it made him awful shy
And so they gave him medicinal compound
And now he's learning how to fly
 
Scaffolders need to get in ear monitors.

God they make a racket when Billy on the street is shouting to Bob on the roof!

There’s evidence of putlog holes in Roman architecture. Probably other cultures used a form of scaff beforehand but this was the first time in recorded history it was integrated into the build.
