Say yes or if you reckon league 1 is a cert.

Not a cert obviously until its mathematical but I have to say I think we are going to go down now after until recently thinking it'll be fine.

As shit as they are, the players ability is too good to go down imo. Most have played semi regularly in the the premier league for a number of teams over a number of seasons and you don't do that through having league 1 skill.

Character wise the squad is full of bottle jobs, shirkers and cowards. We don't have the stomach for the fight to grind out the results to get us out of the shit. If we do escape it will be down to other teams fluffing their lines rather than us rising to the occassion, exactly like it was when we bottled it at notts county under butcher on the last day.

if going down brings new ownership a bit closer then so be it. The first team squad needs to be completely rebuilt and on the money we have available League 1 might be the best place to do that. We will not make any real progress while the owner is looking to spend as little as possible and sell. The time between now and Short selling up is dead time.

Last few days have made my mind up, thought there was a chance if Coleman was going to be backed but obviously not, Grabban leaving, injures piling up. I just can’t see us staying up.

Even if we do stay up, just like our Premier League days I feel we are just delaying the inevitable with Ellis at the helm.

Absolutely this. In the summer due to limited finances I thought getting in the McManaman's, McGeady's, Wilson's etc was a good move, that it would add some experience and quality. I think I like many misjudged the situation and we should have been looking at solid players already at this level alongside our young lads and the ones we cannot move, so we acclimitised more quickly as we were never going to challenge at the other end. For me it's more about desire and not just going through the motions accepting it, with many players thinking they're better than the club or the situation than it is about ability. True there are shortfalls in areas like up front or in goal, but that's true of most teams in this league in ability.

Surely though if Coleman wasn't able to do anything in the market he'd have held onto Grabban as tightly as he could given Bournemouth hadn't yet recalled him. I don't think the disappearance of Ndong or Kone as purely down to injuries either, nor was leaving out McGeady and McManaman in the league. then you have his comments on Rodwell and doing it via the press.

The fact he's saying it as we see it both to the players and in the press about the lack of desire or mental strength is the one thing that gives me hope.

We need a shitload of good players brought in in the next few weeks to avoid it. We're going down.

50/50 depending on what loans Coleman can get in and if he can spark a bit of fight in the slackers. This league is shite and the bare minimum we should expect from the players is hard work which goes a long way in a league with not much quality overall

No
Only just though, after a long embarrassing season. This is the Sunderland way. I think we have a few years in the wilderness to look forward too.

New owner AND a southern training base is the only thing that that is going to polish this turd.
