0 tolerance on alcohol has led to black market production and sale at prohibition style gatherings. Locals can get a slap on the wrist for transporting it around, but the law and reality for ex pats is jail time....only came across this knowledge when planning a work visit some weeks back, wondering what the craic would be if I got drunk and made a scene, turns out I had nothing to worry about!

I’ve worked in Kuwait and the affluent Arabs are ok with westerners, almost too polite. I met some really nice people.
I preferred to socialise with the immigrant workers. Indonesians, Filipinos, Egyptians, Bangladeshis were all a good laugh.
Bedouins are quite cool too.
