To be expected. Would he fancy it if the chance arose do you reckon? ( I appreciate you may not be able to answer this, no stress if not).

Baldock: off his own back, I expect he would want to fight for a chance at Brighton or with another Premier League team. Whether he will get his chance is ? If he was more clinical in front of goal I expect Baldock could get appearances from the bench for Brighton. Too far down in the pecking order really.

Supposedly, Brighton are really struggling with the home grown Quota for next season. If the let Baldock go they need to replace him with another British player that will make their premiership squad.

They have steele March Murray dunk Stephens just of the top of my head

This means Sam Baldock gets his chance ahead of Tomer Hemed. Tomer Hemed will struggle to make the cut of 25. He could still do so ahead of left back Marcus Suttner? Depends on whether Brighton need three left backs or not? Recent history says they need four left backs.

I expect Tomer Hemed to sign for a la Liga side? My inclination is that Glenn Murray's legs are not going to last a full season though.

He main point is that Premier League clubs have surplus players available for about £1 million each because of the 25 man limit. Ageing journeyman are probably available for nought bar their too high wages. .

+ Baldock and Button. 7 is the minimum. Brighton are still looking for a HGP central defender to replace HGP Connor Goldson who went to Rangers.

Surely they have under 23s that count

I don’t think U23 players count and can be used in the Premier without it affecting the quota. They need 7 in the 25 Match day squad. At the moment they are struggling to meet that. They need to get two HG players in to the 25 before they will let Baldock go.Reading are waiting in the wings for this to happen.

Any under 21 players worth their salt tend to go out on loan. They don't count for the 25 anyway.

Often the surplus Premier League players are those that reach the age of 22. e.g, James Wilson (Man United). Not many under 21 players are making a direct step up to the Premier League nowadays.

+ Norwood = 8 minimum. Quite a few clubs have over 25 players on their books e.g. Watford.
