Depends on who or what you believe
I suppose, GOM is replying to someone who is stating nothing is coming out, no rumours, nothing. What Magus is stating on the other board is exactly what he has been told. We don't know his source therefore it's just rumours or lies until something happens and his proved right or wrong.

Thing is, I don't think he really needed to take the pressure off. He's sat in Oxford, seemingly with very little intention of coming back to Sunderland unless absolutely required. There's no matches for people to shout about him at, and even when the season starts there won't be any fans initially, and he probably won't be there. No one expected him to spend money so he's not even using it as an excuse not to spend, and the fact is he needs to go up just as much as we want us to, so there's no need for a misdirection which means he can be inactive in the market. It doesn't make sense that Donald has just made it up. Which means that, given Barnes said something was happening and said he still thought so when he did the podcast a week or so ago, I'm confident that something is happening

I truly hope so...but no news/leaks in the media is unusual if something is happening, other than of course the Rasputin Bampot making a noise!
