How many people actually go out of their way to go to the club shop? It probably only turns a profit on matchdays. More and more people shop online these days, especially during lockdown. Everything you want to buy is available from the website. They wont be missing out on that many sales imo all while keeping down the costs of running a store that probably doesnt get much footfall outside of matchdays.I can see that too. From owning and working for a few large business's before i retired, two with turnovers of £100m plus and my own companies, all of his actions since he purchased the club dictate just how incompetent he is and that he had insufficient capital and operational funding to sustain his investment. There stands the cost cutting. Some may say that the trimming of the budget had to be done, i agree, but Not without a plan. most of his actions have been utterly ridiculous save for the seat renewal. i'm still waiting for the lift repairs to be announced and the upgraded sound system we were told about from the "Loan" takeover. He gambled on promotion in his first year but did not supply the finances to bring in players that would have almost guaranteed this. Since then all i have witnessed is a lack of leadership and a downward spiral that can be seen ,as you say around the stadium, academy and the club in general. The club shop being closed ,for me, is criminal at the start of a new season.. The loss of the season ticket revenue due in the main to Covid but also supporters who could see right through Donald, will have increased the pressure on him tenfold and ripped his business plan to shreds.. I've posted many times before that these owners do not have a pot to piss in otherwise we would not be witnessing the rapid decline of the club.
