For those of you confused about the Nixon\Satori thing, here it is in its full context. To me Nixon suggests our buyer could be Sartori's father-in-law, not it is him. He first mentioned him in reply to a question from a Sunderland fan:

Believing nowt until it's officially confirmed and Donald has packed his bags and fucked off.
Which is the only sensible way to be marra. Nee harm in watching the madness on here in the meantime tho if you want a bit of entertainment

Pickford
Henderson
Egan
Hourihane
Waghorn
Colback
Honeyman

All played in the top 2 leagues this season alone.

Add in the likes of Alnwick, Meyler, Brown, Bridges, Leadbitter and McCartney who have all played consistently in the top 2 divisions over the last 20 years (I’ve no doubt missed some more) and it shows you’re talking pap
Pickford - Yes
Henderson - Yes
Egan - made no difference to Sunderland (financially or through appearances)
Hourihane - made no difference to Sunderland (financially or through appearances)
Waghorn - ok
Colback - yes
Honeyman - yes
Alnwick - yes
Meyler - signed from Cork in his 20s
Brown - ok
Bridges - came through academy in early/mid 90s well before AOL
Leadbitter - yes
McCartney -yes

I agree that having a good academy is a great thing, but when the club is in poor health it might be hard to justify spending lots of money on when the outcome is a Waghorn or Chris Brown every few years.
Seems any half promising youngster gets snapped up by Liverpool etc any

:D I mean like everyone I hope this is true and they're credible, financially viable new owners...

... but a week ago nobody was 'in the data room' and now Donald is tipping off Barnes that a sale can be done in the next few weeks, presumably before they've actually done DD to know if they actually definitely want to buy us once they've seen the p&l forecasts.

This is exactly what happened with FPP. He got ahead of himself and the reality didn't live up to expectations.

Going to take it with a pinch of salt until we get more details.
