They weren't paid up. They were sacked. I think we ended up getting around £3m out of NDong.
Fair enough. The accounts didn’t seem to reflect that. No way to know for sure obviously but the wages were still ludicrously high (assumed because this included pay offs such as these) and income from transfers ridiculously low.
We didn't pay their contract we sacked them. We also held onto their registration meaning anyone wanting to sign them would have to pay a fee
You could be right. Though they both signed for other clubs and I don’t remember anything being mentioned about us getting a fee other than Donald assuring us that would be the case.

As the money was effectively compensation for breach of contract, I'm not sure that incoming transfer fees would be the right place for it. Possibly offsetting some of the wage bill. It's really hard to say. But NDong was not an asset on the club's books, and the value of his remaining contract was probably part of the large writedown of player values in the 2018/19 accounts. By the way, the cash income from sales only appears in the consolidated accounts, because the other companies aren't required to produce a cash flow statement. The player trading profit or loss is the difference between the transfer fee receivable and the remaining value of the player's contract.

Aye and we got £1.5m for Kone. Also got £5m for Borini, £6m for Khazri, £5m for McNair, £6m for Lens, £2m for Asoro, £3m for Maja, there's £28.5m just on those players leaving on Donald's watch. Though where this money went am not quite so sure.
and huge losses in fees in the process

That’s kind of what Is most likely to happen to a failing organisation thats haemorrhaging cash, has little opportunity to increase revenue, has a toxic culture, and has been accustomed to failing for many years.
Not true. I’m not talking about our finishing position. I’m talking about every aspect of the operation of our club. He’s made the club a worse running organisation than the one he bought. He’s gutted us. There is no excuse for making the worst situation in our history even worse - and all while chasing a short term goal (which you fail to achieve) by mortgaging the medium term future. He deserves every bit of stick he gets. He’s the worst thing to ever happen to safc.

No different to his predecessor. Ultimately its the same reasons for failure. Horrific recruitment & scouting.

Our club is a fuckin joke. We dont deserve to be a professional club

I think it’s worse tbh. Short didn’t have the courage of his convictions (we actually did some progressive things during his tenure) and would always chicken out to avoid short term pain. However the club never really lacked for money and never did Anything as corrosive as the Donald regime has. The active selling of children to minimise the amount he needed to put in - all while prioritising quick fix signings in the hope of getting promoted (and a quick profit) by brute force - is the single most damaging thing done to SAFC since someone had a bright idea about hay bales

Listen to what he was going to do in his early podcasts and judge him on what he has done

Not a great success in my book

even what he said he would do in his early podcasts was shite.

no long term plan, no idea, no desire to improve infrastructure.

the blokes a f***ing disgrace who has absolutely no idea on how to run a football club. He suffers from little man syndrome and has an astounding amount of arrogance to accompany it. He should be ashamed at the work he’s done on the football side of things. It’s f***ing embarrassing.

The biggest mistake short made was continuously employing the wrong people.
I've said it before if he'd been able to appoint big Sam instead of di Canio we could have been a totally different club now
