I went off their salad bar after seeing some bairns playing in it and putting their hands in the different salads

Really need supervised bars to make it attractive to discerning customers.

Cheap and cheerful but simple iceberg, cress, lettuce ,cherry tomatoes halved, a few yellow peppers, grated mature cheddar and tossed in Cesar dressing served with mashed sweet tatties. Just nice for this weather

Nowt beats the marinated cabbage salad from a decent kebab shop imo.

That’s surprisingly easy to do. Just need to finely shred the cabbage, bit of salt, squeeze of lemon or white wine vinegar. Put in a Tupperware and shake well. Leave for a few days in the fridge. Will be ready quicker if the slice is very fine.
