Ah have thought of one annoying aspect to this, you can't climb down a stand over the seats at the final whistle to get around non moving queues of old fat men down stairs. Might get funny looks doing some waist high hurdling

I'm not asking for anyone to change any opinions. What I'm doing and seemingly I'm in a very small minority is saying that standing should not be reintroduced. As I've said above if I'm in a complete minority then why should my alternative viewpoint bother you? 99 say introduce it - 1 says dont. Fine by me but I have my view and as I say I wont be changing it.Are you hoping/expecting to change any of our opinions, like?
Because you're spouting nonsense and not listening to the reasonable arguments other people have made using relevant facts and evidence. You're commenting on the old style terraces, not rail seating. It's the type of stand not the body position that matters. If people are so overwhelmingly in favour of it why do you younguns give my views such credence? If I'm in a minority of 1 whats it to you whether I agree or disagree with your view? I've told you what i think and I simply dont agree with it. Pretty simple really but my love view appears to have got loads of you hot under the collar for some reason.
Why would the slow old fat men (probably balding with BO anarl) have been in the standing section to begin with? Are they all MBH clones?Ah have thought of one annoying aspect to this, you can't climb down a stand over the seats at the final whistle to get around non moving queues of old fat men down stairs.

There seems to be a lot of angry younguns on here tripping over themselves to get agitated and name call about a minority view.
Mate, you aren't allowed into a rail seat area unless you have the valid ticket. That's how it works and has been done successfully in other stadiums. It's simple. And guess what, it's safe.Policed by who
the stewards can only do the job now cos the place is empty.
What about young fat men, skinny people, women and children?Ah have thought of one annoying aspect to this, you can't climb down a stand over the seats at the final whistle to get around non moving queues of old fat men down stairs. Might get funny looks doing some waist high hurdling
....in germany and scotland - totally irrelevant and a million miles away from english footballing culture and The English Disease - which has never gone away.it works and has been done successfully in other stadiums. It's simple. And guess what, it's safe.
that would require a "surge" which isn't possible when each row is divided by hip high barriers. It's virtually impossible to get into the row in front without climbing over the barrier in front. I've lost count of the amount of times I've ended up in the row in front celebrating a goal as things are currently (shin high seats).
They aren't the problem, you don't understand what I've lived through and experienced at football matches with old fat men not moving in queues. It's a travesty! What about young fat men, skinny people, women and children?![]()
56 - been there, seen it - done it.How old are you like?
You can't overcrowd and can't move forwards. So rail seating makes no difference to the likelihood of violence or safety. Regardless of whether you're English, German or Scottish mate. What about young fat men, skinny people, women and children?

There will be an incident at some point and as I say you will be told by the minority - "told you so". Accident waiting to happen. Perhaps it may happen to you? Perhaps you will leave home for the match one day, say cheerio to your Mother and Father, and its you who wont be seeing them again.Because you're spouting nonsense and not listening to the reasonable arguments other people have made using relevant facts and evidence. You're commenting on the old style terraces, not rail seating. It's the type of stand not the body position that matters.
You're right though. You're in a minority and that's why rail seating will be in place before long. Nee-one will die or be crushed and we'll stand happily.
Exactly the same age as my Dad and he would have rail seating in in a heartbeat.56 - been there, seen it - done it.
Rail seating doesn't allow for hooligans to do any more than the current seating arrangement does mate. Even English fans can't riot through metal barriers in every single row at waist height. There will be an incident at some point and as I say you will be told by the minority - "told you so". Accident waiting to happen. Perhaps it may happen to you? Perhaps you will leave home for the match one day, say cheerio to your Mother and Father, and its you who wont be seeing them again.
As for "facts and evidence" you dont have any. Its never been used in the top 2 divisions of English football so what you are saying about Germany or indeed any other country is a total irrelevance. The way English football fans behave at football is a million miles from the way anyone else behaves. Football hooliganism and the shite way our fans went on/go on is not called The English Disease for nothing.

Asked you on the other thread and got no answer - I'll try again. When was the last time you witnessed hooliganism in an ENGLISH football stadium? The days of the 80s have long gone and the reason its now safer to attend a football game is because it's now better policed with improved safety regulations and stewarding. Standing in a modern stadium will not lead to hooliganism nor is it any less safe that sitting, Germany has had safe standing for 13 years without any major incident and they have a much bigger Ultra culture - see Koln at Arsenal in October and PSV in Holland and Celtic in Scotland.Since when was football hooliganism called "The Scottish Disease" or "The German Disease?
Comparing English football culture and fans to the German and Scots variety is like comparing chalk and cheese.
The English variety of football fan is I'm afraid barking mad if they think that they should be allowed "choice" after our track record; and the Government/FSF and the footballing authorities would all be culpable if standing was introduced and deaths or incidents occurred.
Its a complete non starter for me.
I want to stand mate. It would be safe to do so with Rail Seating. Atmosphere would improve. There will be an incident at some point and as I say you will be told by the minority - "told you so". Accident waiting to happen. Perhaps it may happen to you? Perhaps you will leave home for the match one day, say cheerio to your Mother and Father, and its you who wont be seeing them again.
Been there, seen it and done it with English football.

Finally and the most important point is that there is absolutely no reason for the reintroduction of standing areas. Not one. You couldnt give us one reason that would be the remotest bit credible.
He doesn't listen to facts and evidence after the 70's/80's mate.Asked you on the other thread and got no answer - I'll try again. I can't see it happening either but I think it should.I hope your right but I just can't see it happening in this country.
Your ignorance is astounding. It really really is.
