Safe Standing Petition

Whats laughbable is that people have been allowed to stand in an all seater stadia. It should never have been tolerated. Man United started it and the rest copied. The authorities since then have sat on their hands; instead of throwing people out and reducing Man United's away allocation to zero.

We are now at stage 3 ie asking for standing back. stage 4 and the final stage is someone asking for a return to the terraces. Little by little all seater stadia and the reason for it has been chipped away at.

embarrassing patter. Stick to watching cricket man.

As I say we all know that 10 years down the line this comes next. Plain as day what will happen.
It really isn't mate. Not everything works that way. If people are standing they will be happy. This is just about making that choice a safe one. Hurts no-one. As I said, should we all sit quietly when we score, perhaps just throw a fist in the air? Otherwise we might topple into the row infront. Dangerous that.

aye because the hundreds of clubs who have had rail seating for years are currently campaigning to get rid of rail seats & just let anyone stand anywhere. I don't think you realise how silly you sound.

What does Germany have to do with this?

I suggest that the people who should "get their head out of their arse" are the ones asking for the reintroduction of standing.

It has surely zero chance of happening and the very first incident that occurs in these standing areas will be pounced upon - certainly by football fans like me who dont want too see any more incidents inside standing areas in this country or any more deaths.

I can't wait till safe standing eventually happens just to see your reaction, the fume will be class

You do realise that German clubs have this system already don't you? As do Celtic. No problems mate. Do some research into the proposals.
Since when was football hooliganism called "The Scottish Disease" or "The German Disease?

Comparing English football culture and fans to the German and Scots variety is like comparing chalk and cheese.

The English variety of football fan is I'm afraid barking mad if they think that they should be allowed "choice" after our track record; and the Government/FSF and the footballing authorities would all be culpable if standing was introduced and deaths or incidents occurred.

Its a complete non starter for me.

What incidents? I genuinely dont see how it can been seen as dangerous?

Standing areas at gigs and festivals are much worse yet have never been stopped/banned.

These rails would make it harder for there to be crowd trouble mate. Seriously, what are you on about, or indeed on?

And it being a 'complete non starter' is part of the problem. You're not even looking into or considering the system or the facts surrounding it and it's successful implementations. You're just blindly dismissing it.

Standing in all seater stadiums is alot more dangerous than safe standing. Surely you have enough common sense to see that, i think you need to get your head out of your ass if you dont

LOL.

The only ones fuming are you lot ie younguns who never lived through what we did with standing.

I wouldnt be fuming at all. I'd simply shake my head, wait for the first incident to occur and loudly shout that "I/we told you so". Youd then be forced to admit that I/we were right. The lawyers would then have a field day with the FSF, the Government., the PL/FL and which ever club was daft enough to introduce it.

We could then count the body bags together.

As has been shown 20 years later about the only thing Lord Justice Taylor got wrong was when he stated that there is nothing inherently dangerous about standing. There clearly is given that all seater stadia since his report has produced zero incidents.

To suggest that it is purely and solely down to the fact that people are expected to sit down which has stopped their being deaths due to crushing at football is such an incredible example of restricted thinking.

Virtually all crowd deaths are due to compressive asphyxia *Crowd Disasters | Prof. Dr. G. Keith Still

Please can you explain how changing a seat that is currently there to putting in a rail seat as pictured below is going to cause compressive asphyxia.

Unless 50 fat men were purposing trying to kill someone in the middle of a row, I don't get how you can jump to it being a hazard?

Correct and the solution to that is to make people sit down or throw them out of the ground and give them a banning order not to reintroduce into our stadiums standing areas again.

Its like murdering somebody and then calling for murder to be made legal because everyone is doing it.

What you are showing me is a picture of a standing area - nothing more and nothing less. Its banned and should never be allowed to return to the top 2 divisions of English football. My opinion and nothing will change that opinion.

Only it isn't like that, at all

aye mate. I mean thousands die every week in rail seats already introduced elsewhere around the world. Rail seats at Celtic Park for the Old Firm and no-one dies but introduce them at the Hawthorns for West Brom v Burnley & the English disease will ensure there's carnage.

you're a clown.

This. He won't read it though. It's a complete non-starter because he knows better and we young English hooligans will kill each other whilst standing side by side in our completely safe rail seating with no over crowding.
