What would it have to do with rail seating?Who's going to point the finger first when theres that first incident and people are killed.
What would it have to do with rail seating?
Rail seating and the metal barriers that made the perimeter of the pen at Hillsborough have absolutely nothing to do with each other apart from they are both made of metal.Wasn't the metal barriers at Hillsborough that were mangled.?
Yes that what I meant staggered railings.
Thats what would happen though, over crowding.
Its has to be about safety

this petition is about showing Tracey Crouch that we're not a vocal minority. Another desperate attempt to dampen the opinion of the working class. She'd sit down and listen to us if we were all fans of equestrian but this has been dismissed out of hand because this Tory clown would rather not waste her time with football fans.
I know that not everyone can/wants to stand at the football but everyone should have a choice without breaking the law. Anyone that doesn't believe in providing a choice needs to give their heads a wobble.
it's impossible to overcrowd railing seats. You get a "seat" or a space to stand but the seat is locked in the upright position. Either side is policed or stewarded and therefore you only get access to the rail seats with a valid ticket. There have been times where I've had to share my "seat" in the south stand with 4 other bodies (especially vs the mags). That has been replicated over the whole upper section of the South Stand resulting in 3 or 4x as many people in that area as there should have been but because the seats could fold down it's deemed safer than rail seats?

like I've said above...
rail seats, policed correctly, one person to a "space" > 4 people sharing a seat that folds down but isn't used resulting in hundreds of bodies everywhere when celebrating a goal.
Prefer dangerous standing tbh
Exactly and the reason why standing wont be allowed back in the top 2 divisions.Who's going to point the finger first when theres that first incident and people are killed.
You need to look into how this is actually operated and also realise people are already standing and this rail seating will actually improve safety not make it worse.Yes that what I meant staggered railings.

You too. This isn't going back to the terracesExactly and the reason why standing wont be allowed back in the top 2 divisions.
As has been shown 20 years later about the only thing Lord Justice Taylor got wrong was when he stated that there is nothing inherently dangerous about standing. There clearly is given that all seater stadia since his report has produced zero incidents.
Whats laughbable is that people have been allowed to stand in an all seater stadia. It should never have been tolerated. Man United started it and the rest copied. The authorities since then have sat on their hands; instead of throwing people out and reducing Man United's away allocation to zero. Its laughable they can reject plans and be so against it when (unsafe) standing actually exists.
We are now at stage 3 ie asking for standing back. stage 4 and the final stage is someone asking for a return to the terraces. Little by little all seater stadia and the reason for it has been chipped away at.You too. This isn't going back to the terraces![]()
So have there been many accidents in Germany with the rail seating there mate?Whats laughbable is that people have been allowed to stand in an all seater stadia. It should never have been tolerated. Man United started it and the rest copied. The authorities since then have sat on their hands; instead of throwing people out and reducing Man United's away allocation to zero.

It does and it should not be about this mythical "choice".Its has to be about safety
I don't think that will happen. Little reason, if you have 'safe' standing, to want 'old-style' standing. We are now at stage 3 ie asking for standing back. stage 4 and the final stage is someone asking for a return to the terraces. Little by little all seater stadia and the reason for it has been chipped away at.
Is safe standing not safe?It does and it should not be about this mythical "choice".
It is about safety and these are safer when people start jumping around after a goal as well mate.It does and it should not be about this mythical "choice".
What does Germany have to do with this?So have there been many accidents in Germany with the rail seating there mate?
You do realise that German clubs have this system already don't you? As do Celtic. No problems mate. Do some research into the proposals. What does Germany have to do with this?
I suggest that the people who should "get their head out of their arse" are the ones asking for the reintroduction of standing.
It has surely zero chance of happening and the very first incident that occurs in these standing areas will be pounced upon - certainly by football fans like me who dont want too see any more incidents inside standing areas in this country or any more deaths.
