Safe Standing Petition

I agree, but the marketing gurus, seem to have done a good job on selling atmospheric stadiums. All im saying is the premier league would love safe standing

If so, it'll happen. And I welcome it.

Harry is losing it. Shame, he was doing well since his return :(

If a stand has 2000 seats (and fencing at the front) and 4,000 people are allowed in, people will get injured.

Whether it's seating or terracing, if too many people are allowed into a stand, there is potential for a disaster to happen.

That simple enough for you?

Absolutely disgraceful thing to say. We have had 20 years now of all seater stadia, not one incident has occurred and as the Hillsborough Support Group says a group of retrospective arseholes want to return to the bad old days of English football for no reason other than their own self interest. It has fuckall to do with cashing in and everything to do with stadiums remaining safe for football fans, who fortunately havent had to go through what my generation went through.

Not one person on here has put forward any reason - not one - for standing to return except their own self interest and the fact that they want a "choice". Unfortunately English football fans dont get a choice because everytime they do get a f***ing choice they fuck it up. the track record of English football fans is f***ing dreadful. Even when they are given all seater stadia whats the first thing they do - refuse to sit in the seat they are given and like the children they are - stand. Even more disgraceful is the authorities letting them. Even more disgraceful than that is flagrantly disobeying the law and then calling for an even more relaxed approach because they are breaking the law and no one is punishing them.

Absolutely shameful.

I'd rather be on the side of the Hillsborough Support Group than the self interested people on here who have very conveniently forgotten the likes of Hillsborough.

I'm even more vehemently against this so called "safe" standing (an oxymoron if ever there was one) now than when the thread started.

No way will I ever support this retrograde step. No chance.

Not content with claiming everyone else on this thread is "talking out of their arse", you now trash all of us who go to football matches. With all this flagrant misbehaviour going on all around you I'm surprised you still want to enter a football stadium at all.

A few fisty cuffs and thry will have to revert back?? You must live in a boring world

Indeed. Plenty of fights in all seaters too. Dont see why having a numbered spot rather than a seat will make any difference tbh.

Yep, he has lost his shit again. Sad to see as he was doing well of late ffs.

Spot on marra. Grounds are so heavily cctv'd that safe standing should not be an issue. Tho the media in this country will pick up on every slap

Why is the English disease being mentioned? What a load of rubbish. As @dangermows has already demonstrated trouble has occurred inside all seater stadiums and I've seen it happen in all stadium stadiums as well.

The advancement and introduction of cctv has had a much larger impact on the 'English disease' than all seater stadiums.

And back in the day it was pay on the door, so opposition fans could infiltrate. That's long been sorted and wouldn't be jeopardised just because safe standing was introduced.

You're wasting your time mate, he either doesnt understand the real cause of the Hillsborough disaster or the definition of the word 'safe', or he's just on a wind up mission. Either way there is nothing you can do for him

It's the latter. But it's fun to pick it to bits for a while. In an ideal world he would be serious cos he would lose the plot when it eventually comes in.

Agree good point. I'm amazed that someone who claims to be a football historian is so ignorant to what happened in the past and the changes that has occurred.
