Playing Nottingham Forest Academy team at the Academy of Light tomorrow ko 13.00.

I might well have a dodge over.

That's my plan as well. Might have to leave a few minutes early mind as I am also taking in the other Forest (Forest Green Rovers), v Gateshead at the Stade de Heed. Not sure I can get from the AOL to Saltmeadows in 15 mins.

Should be a good game,Forest one of the best U18 teams in the country.

We have drawn the holders Chelsea in the FA youth cup, but strangely they have won only one game so far this season out of eleven (and that was against Cardiff, so it does not really count) and our lads are now doing very well. Its a strange game at that age group. On last seasons form its one of the worst draws you could have, but on current form we are clear favourites.

Not sure why but normally the FA youth cup games are played at the SOL but the Chelsea game is being played at Hetton for some reason.

Its in the rules of the competition that clubs use their first team ground however the SAFC story tonight says we sought 'special dispensation' to play the game at Hetton.

Its a bit like the rules of the FA Cup saying you have to field your best available side, yet nobody gets fined when they don't.

These rules mean nowt these days and that's why the game is going down the pan and the FA are the main culprits.

Aye I was just wondering why this is the case, surely it's better experience for the young'uns to get used to playing at the SOL.I have enjoyed going to the youth cup games at the SOL in recent years.

That's exactly why the rule is (was) in place. Gives the young lads a chance to play at a league ground and for some of them (most to be honest), it may be the only chance they ever get.

Moor Lane and then just walk through.

Be good if we could have a round up from lads watching the younguns today. See who catches the eye and looks the better prospects
Thanks bud I going to try and get over depending upon work commitments.

A well deserved 3 0 victory. Billy Knott was superb with a lovely chipped goal. Outstanding displays from Canvey Island man Billy Louis Laing with a quality goal and central defenders Lamb & Egan were class.
