Totally agree, one of the slowest teams in the league last season and we haven't brought in any Usain Bolt's I can see so far.

First half of last season I thought our pace was exciting/electrifying!!

Bent, Gyan, Welbeck, Elmo (I think people forget how good he was/looked in the first few months), Onuoha, Henderson (to an extent).

Obviously most of those have gone now though. Sess is quick but I agree that all our midfielders are relatively pedestrian.

that midfield and forward line spells goals to me like. not sure if im a massive fan of swp, but i do remember his second stint at man c. when they played us on his first game back.

he tore us to shreads and scored 2 iirc.

It also spells midgets.

He's hardly played so it's difficult to judge where he's at these days. If he wants to play regular football he should fancy a move here.

Plus he can jump higher than Murphy...

Echo echo....

Stupid? You think that is stupid? Would his market value not affect his fee? Could Man City expect a fee in the area of £14m and expect to sell him when his market value alone is under £10m.

He is right-footed though. Even I know that. Of course he would have to go on the right.

Bruce could be thinking of putting Elmo at right-back more regularly with Larsson and possibly SWP, if we actually go for it and make a daring bid for him, to play on the right.

Settle down son. If you read the comments that came earlier in this thread, you'd see that people were suggesting he play on the left. I was simply stating that I'd prefer to see him on the right. Being right-footed doesn't automatically mean you can't do a job on the left. There have been countless examples of decent right-footers playing on the left.

Besides which we have much better RB's at the club than Elmo (O'Shea, Bardsley and Brown can all play there). If SWP came here, I'd drop Elmo to the bench and start SWP at right midfield.

That is all.

Just saw on ssn, it said sky sources understand that Bolton, Wigan and Sunderland have been given permission to speak to SWP.

Oh beaten to it

Bolton are desperate for cover at the moment, given that they might be relegated because of the lack of it, Im willing to bet they'll pay/do anything for him.

There's no way we could've risked going in to this season with N'Zogbia but no Vaughan or Gardner in my opinion.

Meyler's not fit and he can't be rushed back meaning your one injury or suspension to Colback or Cattermole (hardly beyond the imagination) from being without a recognised, conventional centre mid. That'd be a disaster regardless of how well N'Zogbia performs.

Apologies if I've misunderstood what you're saying.

I know what you mean, maybe you are right. I think I was thinking of O'Shea as another option in the middle if there were injuries, there is Sess too (and Steed two days ago). Either way, you are right and we still are short in squad depth, which is a strange thing to say given we've signed 9.

Its true that they are in a bit of trouble re their squad but they are also mired in debt so their ability to offer decent money may be limited....can see it happening for us
