I only mentioned that as they often decide a value from the previous fees paid for players. I know what you mean, but at the same time you could say 9.5m for N'Zog wasn't much, it's only 5m more and he's something like 6 years younger, so you'd expect to get most of it back, but you'd get nowt for SWP in two years time.

We'll see, I think I agree with you, it's all speculation now.

yeah I agree, if Zog's wage demands had fitted into our pay scale then we would have paid the fee for him, hard to imagine SWP will want less though

I think it was case of not paying Zog's wage to avoid rocking the boat with our current players as they would want more...don't see how this works like

I see what your saying but we needed a goal scoring centre midfielder. And vaughan after last season and reviews of this preseason sounds a cracking buy. We had cattermole henderson meyler colback muntari could include zenden for center midfield last season. 3 of those had left and one had a serious knee injury. So we had to buy gardener and vaughan. So nzogbia wasnt a priority as he wasnt 'needed' as much as the gardener and vaughan.

Indeed, but now there isn't a place in the middle for Colback and as it stands, the left will be covered by him and Vaughan. So you could have just relied on Colback more in the centre and seen what happens with Meyler. The extra balance and possible goals from Zog may have made up for losing some theoretical Gardner goals.

Vaughan does seem like a good buy, but he's not going to start in the middle so, to an extent, he's a squad/ fit him in when we can player.

It doesn't matter really, as I say, I just think they decided N'Zog wasn't worth that kind money and it's up to them to make that decison.

Do not think SWP is a natural left sided player, in my opinion not the player we need, bit of a headless chicken!!!

Just my opinion marra, I certainly don't think he's technically in the same league as Sessegnon.

I'm not sure what I'm meant to be looking at in the link you posted.

Everything. He has been at a high level of the PL for way too long for him not to be skillful. You don't spend years at it if you are utter dirge. Their must be something decent about you if you can spent time at clubs like Man City and Chelsea and be an England international.

And the very idea we could buy someone who pulled on a Chelsea shirt, a Man City shirt and an England shirt is just the stuff dreams dream of. It is just to utterly amazing to believe.

It is hard to see SWP wanting less, as I say I'm sure he (and his step father) were going mad a year or two ago that he wasn't paid 100k a week and it was a disgrace. I can't find any proper article now other than this http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/man_city/18445/is-shaun-wright-phillips-worth-100000-a-week.html.

There's no way we could've risked going in to this season with N'Zogbia but no Vaughan or Gardner in my opinion.

Meyler's not fit and he can't be rushed back meaning your one injury or suspension to Colback or Cattermole (hardly beyond the imagination) from being without a recognised, conventional centre mid. That'd be a disaster regardless of how well N'Zogbia performs.

Apologies if I've misunderstood what you're saying.

As long as SWP's agent has said it then I believe every word

Love the fact that people dont think he would improve our team....classic. He would immediatley be one of our top players!! Am sure he wants out of Eastlands because he's unlikely to get a squad number under the current situation so faces a few months in the stiffs. City will be keen to get shot oif him the only question is who else is in for him. Suspect it will be the usual suitors.....stoke, wigan, blackburn and us (newcastle to step aside after an initial.....ahem...approach). In that company we should have a good chance as none are big spenders on wages.

Personally would love to see him here

BTW how the fuck did we get 9 pages in without the picture:eek:

Bolton are stepping up their interest in him according to reports, so we might be in a fight for him.

Still not convinced he is what we need, and in spite of what a lot have already said, I dont overly rate him anyway - very quick but rarely gets his head up to see what he is doing.

Not what we need, he is not a natural left winger and my opinion a bit of a headless chicken who flatters to deceive.

Classic nonsense from the king of......"dirge". The fact that we have signed 2 players from a considerably more successful club than the ones you mention already this window seems to have slipped your mind......you utter f***ing plank

The only good thing going for him that would benefit us is his market value. Summer of 2005 it was about £27m. Now it is about £7m. Somewhere between his value from Jan 2005 to July 2005.

Is there really any need for that?

C'mon now i know you're on a wind up. Nobody could post something as utterly stupid as that in all seriousness.......if its even 1% true that you believe that then youare the best argument for genetic screening i have ever seen

Is there really any need for that?

Indeed

Aww..you really care.;)

I am not just a plank, I am an utter f***ing plank.

But I really cannot take credit. After all Chelsea is AS successful as the club we signed two of our defenders from and Man City has quality to rival them. The club we signed the two defenders from isn't 'considerably' more successful than the clubs SWP have frequented.

Is there really any need for that?

Yes. He has a crush on me. He is just too scared to admit it.

Could be a decent signing, but wouldn't play him on the left like - i'd play him on the right instead of Elmo. Pacey with an end product - exactly what some people on here have been crying out for. £4m isn't a bad price either.
