Sooner take a gamble on Gradel tbh.
Same type of player.
Cheaper.
Younger.

Have watched extended videos of Gradel on Youtube. Hee seems to be genuinely two footed. Scores goals from outside the box with both feet. Also very good in the air for a small guy - a bit like SKP in that respect.

Obviously a gamble, but I would much rather see an up and coming player like him rather than a swansong from SWP.

Is that true? I thought we didn't think 60k was value for N'Zog. If we wanted him that much we could have paid him the 60 and not signed one or two of the others, but I thought we decided he wasn't worth it.

But we needed the defenders, midfielders, strikers we signed. Nzogbia would be a final piece of the jigsaw buy. We can get away without a left winger if needs be but we badly needed to strength the areas we did.

Unbelievable - if thats the position he's played in thats what you do ffs!
Fact is in terms of physical attributes and abilites they are very similar

An extra weeks worth of Malbranques wages would have bankrupted us like.

Because thats where he is told to play

And its also his best position. So if hes told to play behind the striker then thats exactly why we are after a winger  your argument is just getting petty

No, it's because that's where he's most effective. As SWP is on the wing.

Using your theory we could tell Ferdinand to play left wing and he'd be fine.

He's tiny, pacy, skillful and scores the odd goal. How does he differ?

I don't think SWP's particularly skillful whereas Sessegnon is pure technique!

SWP is fast as owt but his final ball is relatively poor. Whilst Sess is quick, particularly over the first few yards, I don't think he's lightning quick but he can pick a pass etc.

You could argue that we could have spent the money on him instead of Gardner and Vaughan. I would imagine between the Gardner fee, the combined wages and agent/ signing on bonus that can't have been far short of what the N'Zog deal cost Villa.

Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just saying I think it was a choice not to sign him as "the club" didn't think he was worth it.

That's where he wants to play, and it's obvious form watching him too

He's 30 in October you know, he only cost them 8m I think and I'm pretty sure he only has one year on his contract too.

yeah but £8m then could buy you a very decent player, £4m isn't a lot in my opinion.

Would prefer the kid from Leeds though

I see what your saying but we needed a goal scoring centre midfielder. And vaughan after last season and reviews of this preseason sounds a cracking buy. We had cattermole henderson meyler colback muntari could include zenden for center midfield last season. 3 of those had left and one had a serious knee injury. So we had to buy gardener and vaughan. So nzogbia wasnt a priority as he wasnt 'needed' as much as the gardener and vaughan.

I think Man City are a great team to buy from, lets face it they don't need the money so unlike certain teams (Spurs), they'll not piss us about on the money side of things.

Steed, ring and killa to go and bring in swp and Bellamy please

I only mentioned that as they often decide a value from the previous fees paid for players. I know what you mean, but at the same time you could say 9.5m for N'Zog wasn't much, it's only 5m more and he's something like 6 years younger, so you'd expect to get most of it back, but you'd get nowt for SWP in two years time.

We'll see, I think I agree with you, it's all speculation now.

Forgeting the keeper are we or rush keepers? ;) Well thats just the midfield and attack obviously.

Bit ott I thought that like mate, I think the final bit should be a left winger and spend a good chunk on him.

Absolutely no need to buy anymore midfielders other than a left winger because if we don't it will jus be another needless player taking up wages than we need.

I literally would rather do without signing anyone else because when the right one comes along for LW then we will have more wages to offer should we get into a bidding war.

He's well out of our wage structure. If we wouldn't break that for N'Zogbia, I can't see us doing it for SWP.
