SAFC Takeover

Investment would be welcome if needed but I'd like the owners to stick around. I reckon they've done a great job for the club so far and trust them to make us a success if they had the funds to do it.

I agree. Definitely want them to stay but it does worry me that they haven't got the funds for this size of club in reality.

I also sensed a shift in SD's mood on the podcast after deadline day. He seemed miffed with the abuse and he's not on twitter as much now.

Anyway, 2 + 2 and all that.

The important looking people might just have been the Plymouth owners?

Apparently a group of investors were shown around yesterday, anyone heard anything?

Apologies if SEB, quick scan of the main page and I couldn’t see anything.

We heard similar in club yesterday by one of the lads who was at the Don talkin at Easington colliery

But said now was not the right time

Long as they have billions and squillions, anybody can take over.

Long as it's not Ellis Short ;)

Unless this thread is one massive in-joke and I have been whooshed, I am shocked by the indifference with which people are greeting the possibility of Donald and Methven leaving the club. They've been an absolute godsend to the club and I really feel that they are now embedded within it. I think the prospect of their leaving the club to a bunch of unknown money-men is a frightening one. I sincerely hope they are simply garnering further investment.
Im sure they are. It could even be just that Donald was showing around potential sponsors for next season or treating some major clients from his other business interests to a day at his club. However to expect Donald and Methven to be here for tge long haul maybe a bit ambitious, while they have the funds to buy the club and sort out the mess that Ellis left them theres no way they have enough for a sustainable growth model which would result in a lengthy period in the top flight. I said at the time Donald wrote off the £10m he'd put into Eastliegh that this deal would be worth more than that to him and it wouldnt suprise me at a quick profitable sale once we're more of an attractive prospect.

So they weren't actually saying fill the ground, they were saying fill my pockets.;)

They're business men what you think they're in it for

I have heard Donald say he couldn't afford us in the championship next season if we went up

Why promotion paramount this season for a takeover

A takeover or further investment is ok if Methven and Donald remain as the men running the club.

I could genuinly see him sell this summer especially if Juan's interest is more in his presidential campaign than taking more control of us which i think was the original idea. This would give Donald a quuck profit and probably buy Eastleigh back for the pound he sold it for.

£13.5 million on NDong would suggest otherwise
No it wouldn't. How? Leaving aside the naive notion that the signing was Short's personal decision, show me anything from the time where someone less stupid on here or even in the entire football industry or community said that is a stupid signing. If he was stupid so was everyone else.

A helicopter landed at the AOL yesterday and 3 blokes were shown around before heading off to the SOL. Southern accents
