The same people with him in the Hilton before the game were shown around the Black Cats Bar.

I know as I nearly walked into them carrying two plates of cottage pie...

Blimey he will never get them on board as investors if all they had was two cottage pies between the five of them!

Local Rag (Southern Edition) by Alan Nixon, Sunderland owner Stewart Donald is braced for takeover bids with the grapevine buzzing!

Interested parties, have been to games and promotion, would not end Donald's financial drain, with some big earners on the books and other players potentially required.

Speculation is going on, is this how the rumours starts or is someone in the know? Anyone else read this anywhere?

:eek::rolleyes::(

Aye on here 2 threads down

All pointing to the fact of not having the finances

I listened to him on Total Sport a few weeks ago and he said something about they could afford to run the club in League One (this season) and also in the Premier League with all the money that comes with being there. But the bit in between was the tricky bit, if we get into The Championship. Next season is our last parachute payments and being in The Championship without them brings in barely any money.

Correct, I heard the same interview, when I reported on here what I’d heard I received the usual abuse from the usual suspects.

I heard from someone not long ago that Stewart Donald does would not have the money to keep us in the Premier League if we went up to it.

Aye mate. It was Stewart Donald.

The whole tone of the briefings from them has started to become gradually more downhearted and distant I think, since before Christmas. Almost as if either, something has changed that we don’t know about, either at the club or with Donald, or its taking them this long to realise the task is greater than they thought.

Or perhaps, more likely, it’s been gradually more negative since Sartori started running for president, and I’d I think him cutting back on involvement has left them feeling a bit exposed.

Donald sounds progressively more weary in his podcasts and interviews.

There is always lots of interest in Sunderland but I can confirm I have never spoken to Chinese or American groups about selling/investing in Sunderland. If that ever changes I hope I will be able to explain & tell the fans first rather than the Sun newspaper!!⚪⚪
