It's actually lose lose

If he's rubbish then we will be down and miss out on the massive amounts of money for staying up

If we stay up he gets a massive bonus and most likely goes off to another job leaving us in the Sam position as this season

At present we do not look like winning a game. We are the bookie favourite to go down and if you believe the media no one wants to manage us as it is seen as a wrecking career job.

What job is he going to get? He's getting on a bit. The biggish mid table teams have moved on.

We need stabilisation. We need him to do us a job like he did for West Ham then we get rid.

He is the last manager I want at the club but the more I think about it the more we need him. This is a brilliant deal for Sunderland.

We need a premier league blueprint, but to do that we need to stay in the league, Allardyce would be good for us imo, and it would probably be mutual.

The squad is not shit, it just needs organising.

So, if he keeps us up but decides to leave we're in exactly the same position we were in a couple of months ago. We have to appoint someone who's totally committed to the club and not laying down terms and conditions on us.

Absolutely pointless to worry about that now, no need.

You have no idea who is demanding what, where , or how, the entire thing could have been a done deal days ago.

Not having that performance against west ham showed we can win games

And who knows what job he could get

It's not a brilliant deal at all if he decides to leave end of season we have to look for another manager....we can't sign players as we won't have DOF...short would have to decide again what way to go either manager or head coach

Same position as this season

Whoever comes in needs to be hear for 3/4 years

It's not a brilliant deal at all man.....tell me what was achieved by doing exactly the same thing a couple of months ago. We're deeper in debt, we've signed players for a manager who isn't here and the last thing we achieved by going for a short term deal with a respected and experienced manager was stability......we've never been less stable than we currently are.

Exactly what's wrong with this club....thinking short term....you'll get no where thinking just until the end of the season

We need to worry about wining a game before worrying about staying up. Thats as long term as our plans are.

I agree we need a long term plan and preferably a younger manager who will stay and commit to try and build things. Problem is we need to do that in the prem and not championship, and Bsa gives us a good chance of doing that. Or are you happy to appoint someone now who is committed and may well take us down and rebuild in the championship?

no right answer imo, but money is the most important thing to the club and staying up is vital. They obviously think the short term plan of Bsa will help do that

What in the name of God is that.
Is this the latest buzz phrase?

No, we just need a plan, but it's best to do that before the season starts, right now we are fighting fires again, that's not the position to allow long term planning.

Allardyce would get us back on an even keel, then we move on, and use the summer to plan for the new season.

We wait until Autumn to do the summer work, that's the issue, but shitting it about how long he is here for needed to be sorted out in july / august, we have fucked up again.

I wouldn't want Sam Allardyce long term, but I'm a lot easier about a shorter team deal. No doubt he's effective and can do a job.

Sam would also be in a position to demand transfer backing in January - which is no bad thing. We did strengthen under DA - M'Vila, Lens, Toivonen, Borini - but we're still short in some areas - especially at the back.
