I'd agree with this......it's a stupid f***ing idea.....as we've just proved with the previous incumbent. Short is so desperate not to take the financial hit relegation would bring that he's clutching wildly at any short term solution that may keep us up.

Really don't want big Sam but getting anyone until the end of the season is beyond pointless and there will be a massive bonus at the end of it

If it's big Sam he wants then give him a 3 year deal commit to him no matter what we have been crying out for stability

Today ..... Til end of season SSN

Did he have a short term contract at west ham initially?

Get him in either way, he will soon fettle this shower, next season is not to worry about now, unless it means relegation if we appoint a half wit.

Allarydyce will soon show us how important it is to know the league you are playing in.

I wonder who is a clueless idiot!

Brilliant option. Keep his up and somewhere in the contract will be a clause offering a much better deal, or if he is shocking we get shut without renewing costing us nothing.

Well done Ellis. If we gone down I'd rather have a new young manager anyway.

Win win for safc.

It's actually lose lose

If he's rubbish then we will be down and miss out on the massive amounts of money for staying up

If we stay up he gets a massive bonus and most likely goes off to another job leaving us in the Sam position as this season

Get Big Sam in for the season, keep us up and part ways with pats on the back all round. Have a new young manager in place on a long term contract to take over on June 1st. He starts with some time to find his feet, sort out his squad without the pressure of 3 points from 8 games.

But we said exactly the same things when we gave Advocaat a one year deal.....the end of this season is literally a few months away. How much do we allow him to spend in January given that he has a different way of setting his team up to most managers.

Given how long our gaffers usually hang around, im not sure why there are worries re contract length.

We may end up with the same gaffer and a new owner yet, pointless to worry about it right now, get him in and right the ship.

We've had more gaffers than away strips it feels like
