That was a great result but Chelsea had a very makeshift team out.
Gyan and welbeck played well but better centre halves and midfield would helped Chelsea.

I'm not really that fussed what we play as long as we win.

Makeshift team of 11 internationals?

We played 4-4-2 and it suits us best, with the players we have.

N'zogbia never plays left midfield.

Muntari has always been a defensive midfielder hasnt he?

Wiki (states as left wing) and a few other sites would beg to differ (however one or two state he is a right/central midfielder) so which is right?

Muntari can play defensive/central/attacking midfield (and predominantly on the left)

They played their 2nd and 3rd choice rightbacks as centre halves. Allowing gyan and wellbeck more space than usual.

Also this isn't about who we have now. But talk of signing 3 midfielders. We don't even have enough forwards at this moment in time to play 442.

Whilst loyalty now seems to be a relative concept, there has always been the sickening element that kissed the badge on Saturday and kissed goodbye on Monday.

It is best to measure loyalty in 'contract' years. This is similar to 'dog' years - four contract years are the equivalent of two calendar years.

After two years, clubs will seek to extend or get rid for a fee rather than allow an asset to depart for nothing at the end of the contracted period and players, knowing this, are happy to play along for the two years, declaring that XXFC are the pinacle of their career ambitions and that they love the fans. After two years, their 'love' is overtaken by a 'need to seek a new challenge'

Players are employees not fans, they are at a club for money. So long as fans see players as short term whores rather than long term wives, the relationship can be successful.

Absolutely brilliant post. Best one i've seen all week.

In reply to Nemo - yes i'd be very happy. I've tried posting a couple of times this week and the server keeps crashing. If we get 2 quality midfielders in and a backup striker for the price of bent i think it will be absolutely awesome business.
Theres a way to go yet and hopefully we won't panic buy but i urge the fans of sunderland to stop slouching on the settee in their pjamas, eating their cookies and cream ice scream whilst watching wuthering heights. Man up, read the qouted post and get ready for some new and exciting f*ck buddies !!

Wiki man :lol

Honestly, n'zogbia usually plays right wing because he loves to cut in on his left foot and have a go at goal.

We are so crap and lucky it's not surprising we're in a relegation spot...ooh

He's got a left foot therefore he's a left sided player..thus exposing the fact the poster hasnt seen him play this or last season.

All this fantasy football shit is pointless........just can't see Wigan letting Nzog go, they would be completely shafted.
They look like going down anyway, with or without Zog.
If they get relegated it'll be like us with philipps.
They expected to sell him in the summer and my guess is the expected proceeds would finance Boselli and the other deals.
They've done their dough on Boselli and I reckon Whelan is hurting and nervous

True, its an inflated market too. It may be benificial to bring just 1 or 2 in (maybe 1 short term back up striker and a good winger) and take our time looking at targets and putting the wheels in motion so we get the best deal possible come the summer.

Must admit I was gutted watchin Bent holding a Villa shirt and basically saying the same things he did when he joined us, but we now have to look forward to the future.
If the players in question are unhappy and want out of their current club, then the prices quoted might not be so inflated.

We played great against chelsea, but they did have a poor centre half pairing even you can't ague that.
We are doing great being in sixth, I'm delighted with how things are going but I think now is a good time to move away from a rigid 442 if we can get all of the attacking midfield options that are being discussed.

Yeah, just like a club who is sitting in the top 6 wouldnt sell one of their main strikers.....oh hang on.

If N'Zogbia wants to come, he will get his move. Bent is proof that if a player wants away, the player gets his way.

Cattermole out of the squad? ALL RIGHT.

Gordon
Onuha Bramble Ferdinand Bardsley
Henderson Muntari Cattermole N'Zogbia
Sessegnon
Gyan

Imagining the flowing football this squad would produce, rustles my jimmies.

Oops!

I was thinking who would be fit for Blackpool and forgot about the Captain:oops:

Also because he's got a left foot means hes a left sided player ffs
He played LM for the most part for us.

You played him LB all the time and he hated it

Read my post again. I was agreeing with you. Take a deep breath.
I have many posts pointing out that he does play an awful lot of his football from the rw
