Sack Poyet now

We've been relegated 8 f***ing times man since the mid 70s, 4 of them from the PL. Until the formation of the pl we had never ended up bottom in a division ever. We will now be relegated from the pl for the third time running as the bottom club.

The current situation is ultimately
No different to the 15 and 19 point efforts. Yet again safc has imploded.
It's very different and the whole structure of the lib has hanged between. So the core is different. No case.

The core incorrect decision making clearly remAins the same. Incorrect decisions being made by people who aren't up to the job.

It's been a common theme for our club for decades now.

Short got it wrong. Was it sacking MON or Bruce, appointing PDC or Dr Cantu or both. However he wanted to do the right thing. He will put it right I think. Financially supporting a new challenge

Do you work at safc as a matter of interest ?
No. I'm a supporter of nearly 50 years, three divisions 30 season tickets and crowds of 12000

I just wonder what controls there will be on congerton or if he will be allowed to get away with whatever he likes aka di fanti?

Ha way man. We've been relegated from the pl 4 times now, 3 from the foot of the table. We've been relegated 8 times since the 1970s despite all the resources we have thrown at it and you're trying to tell everyone that the club is not rotten.

You're just wrong and short sighted.

These are the vital questions......Firstly does Congerton have the footballing nouse?......Does he have the connections within the game to secure the services of the right personnel to take us forward - players/coaches/managers...whatever?

If so Short would be a bigger idiot than Ive previously given him credit for if he fails to back him

We are in a serious mess

And if course the ultimate question of who will be managing congerton.

He clearly cannot just be allowed to do what he wants.

You see this is what happens when there are no football people on the board. The likes of short and Byrne will have little idea how to hold this bloke accountable.

Very dangerous.

Yeah - Its a bloody mess......But Short/Byrne & Co need to back away from the footballing side of affairs......they clearly have no aptitude for it

Congerton will obviously answer to Short but he needs to have freedom to rebuild the playing side of the business

Say short sacked him, can anyone tell me who the fuck would come and manage us who's better than poyet? Knee jerking from manager to manager will put us down with wolves, can no one see this?
I fail to believe we can't find anyone better than him, I fail to see how anyone apart from him can see that.

Ok that's a point, so now tell me who's going to come here, to a newly relegated club which is acquiring a reputation for sacking managers after 6 months?
Like I said, any manager worth his salt would love that. They all think they're the best thing for tactics since sliced clearances and could pick and choose another job with their payoff in their back pocket.

Ffs why do people persist with the idea that nobody would come? Look at us, we've got a fantastic ground and the fans to fill it if we're doing well, what manager wouldn't be interested, if only to get a foothold in one of the top leagues in the world. Even the SBC is better than most first divisions in other countries.

This is the essence of it. "Hands on" is not always the best, especially when you have no clue about football.

Is he not now the football man on the board?

Now you've gone off course. Care to put some meat on the bones as to why the board are out of their depth?

Were the board out of their depth when we made the League Cup Final? Were they out of their depth when we beat the Mags 3-0? Were they out of their depth when we were up to 12th and the sky was the limit?

Did Ellis Short insist on spending £3m on Scocco? Did he demand Poyet switch to 5-3-2 mid season? Did he insist on him making some truly mental substitutions and tactical changes?

Or is Poyet suddenly realising there is no-one else to blame?

Like I said, ten weeks back I thought he was the one we'd be waiting for. But the horror of the last 2 months (which is as bad a time as this club can ever have had) is largely of Poyet's own making.

The team is built on sand man, Poyet got a reaction like PDC got a reaction, like MON got a reaction.

To many loan players, year after year, players passing through for only a season and selling our best players each year.
...The manager has no chance.

The board got lucky we beat Newcastle and got to a final, they certainly have done nothing to contribute towards Poyets positive results.
Granted Poyet failed in the transfer market in January... Was that budget constraint ?? Who knows but that bit is a little alarming.

Is he not now the football man on the board?
Do fanti was. Who held him accountable?

My point is that everyone has to be held accountable and the likes of Byrne and short has to be better at making sure this happens at all levels of the club.

This is the essence of it. "Hands on" is not always the best, especially when you have no clue about football.
If hands on is not the best then how are people held accountable?

Under this board you could put any manager in charge, don't think it matters as the club will only go in one direction.

Interested to know your updated thoughts Jarvis. The board who were responsible for the bad run presumably must be responsible for the last three games?

are you deluded??? Jarvis only posts when things are not good. you have no chance of him posting anything sensible to this.
