The real question is why have we not built on last season finish?

A team with power and tails up, and a feel good factor from the fans, and it has been totally fucked off.

No one can possibly deny that is crackers.

That kind of opportunity does not come along very often.

He's been utterly rubbish in every respect so far. He does need the time to adjust, though. All new managers do.

The manager got poached by England?

Why would that prevent the club from retaining abmition? You could easily argue that we took a step up in manager, so why reduce ambition?

I don't think it was a question of ambition at all. Short would have spent for Allardyce, like he did in January. It's more about gameplan (or transferplan as it were). Allardyce had one - Moyes didn't, or didn't have the time to implement one this summer.

Gutted Sam left, me.

Agree about Sam, he was very good for us.

Disagree about Ellis, I think he has bided his time and had his fingers burned, he will recoup some cash this season imo.

So far moyes is reminding me of dick last season, speaking negative about the team and the team playing shit with no confidence.
He has even spoke about trying three at the back. Hope I'm wrong but it's not looking good.

Decent manager after decent manager have failed miserably at this club since 2011. The problem is not the manager.

Decent managers have squandered fortunes and left us progressively worse each time we've had to sack them.

I agree that the buck stops with Short, but what else could he do more than he's already doing?

Di Canio, Poyet and Advocat had no control of their transfer dealings. The rest had heavy constraints placed on them.

It took Sam 4 months to get it right & 4 weeks for Moyes to f it up.
