What difference is stopping folk going go Portugal to folk going to Cornwall?
We have the small advantage (although we haven’t used it) of being on an island where we can much easier stop people travelling into and out of the country.
I think where he’s going is that every good cause , every worthy project , the necessary demands ,always seem to have a sinister back story.
This island advantage is silly.
I have two timelines on this covid situation and the second timeline, the evil timeline, would mean what you describe has already started...limited air travel....we know they are coming for the cars and such like......they'll come for the meat.....import/export will be limited and only via the big boys.......we'll be locked down every now and then, reducing emissions....the surveillance via satellites will be off the scale e.g. the donations from the top companies into Green Projects is considerable but only a tiny % is going into planting trees etc, the vast majority is being spent on surveillance & AI keeping tabs in realtime on farmers emissions, they want every single thing on the planet itemised,including humans, & ran like a computer program. They could never do this in normal times and you might think these measures are all well and good but it's going to be absolute carnage....food shortages, rationing of resources/energy,business closures,job losses, mass civil unrest.
This is all of course if we are indeed are on the evil timeline

This is what needs to he done to hit the 7% emissions reduction target on a yearly basis.... the very same percentage they reckon this Covid business has reduced. Time will tell but we are creeping towards that evil timeline.

The targets do seem very ambitious like but a flaw in your logic is that America have opened up with a leftie government while we are dragging our heels with a righty government. Is Biden or whoever is really pulling the strings over there not playing ball with the evil time line?
On the evil timeline Biden is in to collapse America, this will become apparent if we are indeed on the evil timeline.

Actually if we do the right thing over climate change there's a very positive scenario if we want it where we make a far better world than we even have now, nothing sinister about it. The treasured liberties are a narrow view...People used to have the liberty to throw their shite out the window, but there was a negative consequence, and a great advantage when it stopped. Our air is becoming unbreathable, imagine the positive consequence of sorting it out.
I m not arguing against good causes mate - I m suggesting they are often used as a vehicle to a wider agenda.
