Great goal...

Noble is a young player I think SAFC should certainly persist with to develop further...

I only wish some on here would stay off the lads back....

:lol: more chance of Ethiopians building moonbase one!

Noble has never looked comfortable in the championship and had a mixed time in league 1. I really hope noble makes it but he is the same age as Ji and hopefully it's clicked for him.

Only time will tell, it's competitive games where he needs to step up.

Noble played in 3 games for Derby - one start and two appearances as a substitute - for a total of 114 minutes on the pitch.

He played nine times for Hartlepool, had 795 minutes on the pitch and scored two goals.

With regard to Noble's time at Derby, I think it would be impossible to reach a conclusion on someone's level of 'comfort' in the short amount of time he was on the pitch, even if you had, for some reason, witnessed all three games*, or to then assert that the perceived 'discomfort' was obviously indicative of Championship level football being was beyond him.

I would be interested to learn how many of Noble's 9 games/795 minutes in a Harlepool shirt you actually witnessed to make your judgement.

* Noble's appearances for Derby coincided with
02/10/10 - SAFC v Man Utd
21/01/12 - SAFC v Swansea
31/01/12 - sandwiched between SAFC v Boro (29/01) and SAFC v Norwich (01/02)

It would have demonstrated enormous commitment to forego attending home games at the Stadium of Light to travel to Swansea, Burnley and Barnsley to monitor the performance and progress of one of the young reserve team players who was out on loan, in order to make an assessment of his level of comfort at that level. Beyong 'Uber', in my opinion.

Similarly, four of Noble's games for Hartlepool were away (Yeovil, Colchester, Tranmere and Charlton) and, in order to attend some of the home games, it would have meant missing matches at the SoL. In my view this would represent self-sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty.

Could just be a late developer. Kevin Phillips was playing non league football until he was 21/22. Fair enough he was banging them in at non league level but I reckon Noble would do that too. I'm not claiming he will become the next huge striker for us but give him a chance, 21 isn't pension age.

^ Exactly the justification I use when I say that Campbell still has time to improve.

Phillips was 26 when he got his first Premiership goal.

But it is around the 'make-or-break' age.

Is he the same age as Ji?

SAFC.com has him as 19

Covered in flies?

aye that wouldnt be clever.

maybe a 70's ghetto version would be better,
pam grier as the moon base commander/big mamma, some inter galatic version of the KKK as the bad guys, leader of whom like darth vader with a pointy white helmet

just a thought

Noble is more of a striker than CW will ever be.

I know which one will score more goals in his career, it won't be Wickham.
